Binatog, Traditional Filipino Food

Every tourist who is on vacation to a tourist destination must find a unique atmosphere and different from other tourist attractions. In the Philippines, you can find interesting attractions ranging from nature tourism, historical tours, and no less unique is the culinary tour. Speaking of food, each country must have a taste or typical cuisine like Indonesia is famous for the menu of rendang dishes that have been worldwide. In the Philippines you can find a traditional snack called Binatog.

For those of you who first visit to the Philippines maybe wonder what kind of shape and taste. When viewed this snack of corn served with grated coconut on it and sprinkled with sugar or salt. Binatog at a glance similar to the typical Javanese food bledhus. Corn used for Binatog is corn pipel type. No one knows when this hawker comes first, but for the Filipinos this culinary bestseller bought in the summer.

You can find this food menu by the side of the road in the city of Manila. For one portion Binatog priced at 10 Pesos or approximately Rp 3,000. Cheap enough not for a typical traditional Filipino market snacks. You can also make your own and the ingredients that are used easily include 1 cup of corn, 1 tablespoon melted butter, 1 tablespoon grated coconut, and 1 tablespoon sugar for flavor enhancer.

First you have to do to make Binatog which is to boil corn until it is white, then after cooked pour melted butter, grated coconut, and in addition to pour sugar or if you have different tastes can pour milk as a sweetener.

Are you curious to try it? More interesting if you visit directly to the Philippines while enjoying the beauty and various attractions.
