Hello everyone, good morning. One of my favorite fruits, which is in season in this plains region, is the plum, the small, deep red variety, and today I'd like to talk a little about it.

In my memories of my family home, there were about three plum trees in the backyard, and my cousins and I would play there during this season, eating this delicious fruit... I think that's where my preference for it comes from. I had the opportunity to try a wide variety of fruits because our parents and uncles planted everything: pomalaca, pomarosa, loquat, plums, soursop, tamarind, ponsigué, passion fruit, white and pink guavas, melon, papaya, chestnuts, watermelon, avocado, and all kinds of mangoes like dudu, tino, piña, criollo, and mango.

That allowed us to discover a considerable number of tropical fruits from childhood, and to appreciate their flavors and textures... although I liked almost all of them, plums were always my favorite. They grew very large and fleshy on the trees in the yard... but when I saw a little worm coming out, I'd stop eating, hahaha.

These photos I'm sharing with you today are of a plum tree outside the housing development, and because it's on the edge of the sidewalk, people stop to eat them as they pass by, or they fill their bags to take some home. I haven't been lucky enough to find a branch full of ripe plums; they've all been taken before. So I'm sharing some pictures of the tree, its green fruit, and some plums that a neighbor shared with me because they're being sold on the highway between the two cities.
