This monument was built on January 31. I attended the inauguration ceremony because it was not far from my school. At that time, we were still in the second grade of elementary school. It was a very important moment that marked a milestone in remembering that there was a hero in the Dewantara sub-district. The government erected a monument in the center of Kruenggeukueh, located in front of the mosque that is the pride of the Dewantara community. For us at that time, it was a source of great pride to be able to attend the inauguration ceremony of the monument, which gave the city of Kruenggeukueh a landmark in its center.
Today, this monument has become a place where routine activities are held, especially those related to commemorating important national and religious holidays. What brings back this memory is that, in the past, I stood there and was guided by my teacher, while now I guide students and direct teachers to actively participate in activities held at that location.

Of course, the inauguration of the monument on January 31 was a very important moment. It was a tribute to a hero from a small town, who was born in and was exiled to Digul, Tanah Merah, Papua. He was repatriated after the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
He passed away in and was buried in front of his house behind the Bujang Salim Mosque, or more precisely in front of his house. This is certainly something that is very important for the younger generation to remember. In fact, every time there is a commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, which falls on August 17, this place is always visited by all students in the Dewantara sub-district.

The inauguration ceremony was conducted by the commander of the Indonesian armed forces at that time. It took place on January 31, which is certainly a very important date to remember. Especially now that it is almost 50 years old. For us, this was a place to play at that time. Now, the field around the monument, which is an icon of the Dewantara sub-district, has been reduced in size.

Around the monument, especially in the evening, food stalls open up, particularly in front of the Dewantara police station. Meanwhile, the monument itself features plaques commemorating both heroic figures and its inauguration. The building is not very tall and is painted yellow, symbolizing a struggle that has never faded with the passage of time.

I am not so sure but I guess Teuku Rhi Bujang Salim is a local hero because he donated land for Masjid Besar/Raya Bujang Salim complex, so to honor him you guys made this in his memory in or around 1980. You have a nice video.
He was once exiled to Papua by the Dutch, and also donated land for a school and mosque. Thank you for the support you provide....
Dear, you have written a detailed description of the memorial pillar, which helped me to learn about its history. You were young when the memorial pillar was inaugurated, which will be a memory for you. The pictures are very beautiful. Best wishes for your challenge post.
Thanks you for support my post...
