SC-S29|Geo-Quest Mystery – Week 4: History Glitch
I visited the first railway station in Chattogram. Currently, it lies in an abandoned state because a new station was built a few years ago. It is now popularly known as the "Old Railway Station." It is one of the most historic places in Chittagong. At one time, the country's important commercial trade was conducted through this station, but after the new station was built, it was totally closed down.
SteemAtlas Pin and Historical Context
Among the landmarks built and left behind by the British government, this is one of the most historical. In 1896, during the colonial era, the British government built it. It served as a vital part of the Assam Bengal Railway and was created to conduct business with that region; later, several more domestic routes were added to it.
It is located in the New Market - Sadarghat area, the most important place in Chattogram. Besides, people recognize its main location as "Station Road"—meaning the address of this place was created in the name of this station. For people coming by train from different parts of the country, this Old Railway Station was the final and starting point of their journey. Since it is now totally closed, there is no fixed time to visit it.
Short Narrative
Once it was very beautiful, but currently, there is no security guard here; the environment has been ruined by posters of various coaching companies on the walls of the building. In the empty government land next to the station, some small slum areas have cropped up, making the environment look quite dirty. The parking area in front of the building is also in a dilapidated condition, with many holes, and the previously decorated gardens are no longer there.
There are many windows on both floors of the building; though they look like steel from a distance, they are actually made of wood and painted chocolate color. Due to being old and lack of repair, I noticed many windows are broken and very dirty. Even in front of the station building, there were large holes where garbage had accumulated.
The entire building is a magnificent structure made of red bricks and gives off a very vintage feel. The works of the British government are truly worthy of praise. The building is a two-story structure, and on both floors, there are rows upon rows of rooms where all the operations of this train route service used to be managed, though now there is no movement of people.
Two to Four Personal Photos
I visited here after many years. Although the building looks quite beautiful from a distance, going closer reveals its dilapidated state due to lack of maintenance. I went towards the entry gate where once one couldn't walk because of the crowd, but today the gate is locked, the plaster of the building's paint has completely come off, and it's quite dirty all around.
The British had prepared this station with a very beautiful and vintage vibe. At that time, such a structure was the best for its era, and even today, the red brick design of this building will catch anyone's eye from afar. The wooden windows of the building, which now sit with broken glass, actually enhance the beauty of the structure when viewed up close.

Speem.watch Proof Video
I spent some time observing the surrounding environment and tried to do some video along with photography. Honestly, the design of the structure impressed me a lot. When I was approaching it with a first impression from a distance, it just felt like an extraordinary design.
As video proof, I walked through the whole area of the building and tried to capture the moments. You will hear quite loud sounds around because it is attached to the Station Road highway and located in one of the most important places in Chattogram where people crowd daily for various tasks.
Hidden Clue
There are some road barriers/road cones in the building. You have to verify the total number of road barriers. What we use in mathematics to represent the unknown, the Romans used to represent all the fingers of two hands together.
Conclusion
This station will remain one of the most important historical landmarks left by the British government for our Chattogram. Although there is no reason for people to visit here due to the new station, I think this railway station building is a good choice for photography and spot shooting if we consider the structure.
This vintage structure of red-colored bricks will always be one of the most beautiful historical designs in my eyes. If an initiative is taken to maintain this structure instead of abandoning it, it will easily regain its old beauty because it is already in a fairly stable condition.

Dear brother, I have traveled through Chittagong Railway Station many times because I studied in Chittagong city. After a long time, I got to see the railway station through your post. Since it is a new railway station, the old building is abandoned, but the craftsmanship of the British era is still there.
The answer to your quiz is that ten handicap supporters are shown in the video.
