Hello Steemians,

Welcome to the very first week of Geo-Quest Mystery, a challenge that turns SteemAtlas into a living world map of your adventures and Speem.watch into your personal exploration log.
For Week 1, we will not travel far in distance, but deep in meaning. This first mission is about deciding where your journey as an explorer truly begins.

Theme of the Week: The Origin Point

The title of Week 1 is “The Origin Point”.
Your mission is to choose a real place that represents your starting point as an explorer. It might be the city where you grew up, a favourite park where you first observed the world with curious eyes, a café where you decided to travel more, or even a local spot that you now decide will be your official “Point Zero” for Geo-Quest Mystery.
Your goal is to pin this place on SteemAtlas, tell us why this location defines your beginning, and support everything with your own photos and a short Speem.watch video.
By the end of the week, the map on SteemAtlas will show the many different “origin points” of our community’s explorers around the world.

What Your Post Must Include

Every valid entry for Week 1 needs to contain five key elements: a SteemAtlas pin, a short narrative, your own photos, a Speem.watch proof video, and a hidden clue about who you are.

1. SteemAtlas Pin and Description

First, open SteemAtlas and place a pin on the exact location you want to present.
In the description of the pin and in your post, explain clearly what this place is: its name, city, and country, along with a few practical details. For example, you can mention whether it is a park, a historic street, a local square, a beach, or a café.
Then explain why this place is your personal Origin Point. Maybe it is the first place you ever travelled to alone, the location of an important memory, or simply the place where you usually start your walks and explorations.
Your SteemAtlas pin should feel useful enough that another Steemian could find the place and understand why it matters.

2. Short Narrative – Your Explorer Story
In your post, write a short narrative about yourself as an explorer. You do not need to write a long essay, but your story should have a clear beginning, middle and end.
You can introduce yourself in a few lines: who you are, what kind of explorer you see yourself as (curious observer, urban explorer, nature lover, history hunter, etc.), and how you discovered this Origin Point.
Then describe what it feels like to be in that place. You can mention the atmosphere, your memories there, or how it influenced your way of seeing the world. Finally, conclude with one or two sentences that connect this place to the rest of your future Geo-Quest Mystery journey: this is the point from which your map will expand.

3. Two to Four Personal Photos

Your post must include between two and four photos that you have taken yourself at the location.
These photos can show an overall view of the place, interesting details (like signs, textures, plants, objects), or the path that leads to your Origin Point. You are free to appear in your photos if you wish, but it is not required.
The important thing is that your photos are real, personal and match the story you are telling. Images taken from the internet or generated by AI are not allowed as a replacement for real experience.

4. Speem.watch Proof Video (20–60 seconds)

You must also create a short proof video on Speem.watch. The duration should be between 20 and 60 seconds.
In this video, show at least part of the location so that viewers can recognise it. While recording, deliver a short “starting point” message, for example: “This is where my Geo-Quest Mystery journey begins because…”
You can briefly describe what we see, why the place is important to you, or how you feel starting from there.
Once the video is uploaded to Speem.watch, embed it in your Steemit post or provide the direct link, so everyone can easily watch your proof.

5. Hidden Clue About You – Acrostic or Emoji Code

Every entry in Geo-Quest Mystery must contain a hidden clue, and Week 1 is no exception.
This week, the clue is a word that describes you as an explorer. It might be something like “CURIOUS”, “TRAVELER”, “DREAMER”, “ARTIST”, “LISTENER”, “SCOUT”, “OBSERVER”, or any other word that fits your personality.
You must hide this word inside your post in one of two ways:

  1. As an acrostic, where the first letters of several consecutive lines or sentences form the word when read vertically.
  2. As an emoji code, where a sequence of emojis symbolically represents a word about you. For example, a globe, a camera, an airplane and a light bulb together could represent a creative traveller.
The hidden clue should not be too obvious at first sight, but it should be possible to discover it with attention. The other participants will try to guess this hidden word in the comments.

How to Interact with Other Participants

  • Geo-Quest Mystery is designed to create natural engagement, not just isolated posts.
  • Each week, including Week 1, every participant is expected to visit the entries of others. You should read at least two posts from other explorers, watch their Speem.watch videos, and carefully look for their hidden clue.
  • In the comments, try to guess what their hidden word is, and explain why you believe your guess is correct. For example, you might say that their description and photos suggest they are patient, curious, or adventurous.
  • You are encouraged to comment on more than two posts if you enjoy the game. There is also an optional bonus: if you want to go further, you may respond to someone’s post or question with a short Speem.watch video reply. This is not required, but it can make the interaction even more fun and memorable.

Rules and Safety Guidelines

  • The first weekly quest starts on Monday, 12 January 2026.
  • You can submit your entries until Sunday, 18 January 2026 at 23:59 UTC.
  • After the deadline, I will review all valid entries, calculate the scores, and publish a separate results post where I highlight the six best posts of the week, a few honourable mentions, and some community highlights such as memorable comments and clever clue solving.
  • All content must be original and real. This means that the photos and the video must be created by you and linked to your real visit of the location. Plagiarism, fake locations and stolen media will lead to disqualification.
  • For every entry, both the SteemAtlas pin and the Speem.watch proof video are required elements. An otherwise good post without one of these two components will not be considered a valid Geo-Quest Mystery entry.
  • Long articles generated entirely by AI are not acceptable as a replacement for your own experience, observation and storytelling. You may use tools to correct language or structure, but the core of the story must be yours.
  • Regarding privacy and safety, please be careful not to reveal sensitive information. Do not show clear home addresses, detailed school names, identity documents or licence plates. Avoid filming strangers’ faces without their permission. Focus instead on the place, the environment and neutral details.

How the Six Best Posts Are Chosen

  • At the end of the week, I will read all the valid entries and score them out of 10 points based on several criteria.
  • Two points are dedicated to the quality of your SteemAtlas pin and description: I will check whether the location is clearly identified, well explained and useful for someone who might want to visit.
  • Another two points reward the creativity of your mission and hidden clue. I will look at how original your interpretation of the theme is and how clever or fair your acrostic or emoji code feels.
  • Up to two and a half points are given for the Speem.watch proof video. I will consider whether it is clear, stable enough to watch, short but informative, and whether it truly proves that you were at the location.
  • Another two and a half points go to the quality of your storytelling. A good structure, personal style, emotional clarity and coherent connection to the theme will raise your score.
  • Finally, one point is reserved for engagement. This includes the effort you make to find clues in other posts and the quality of your comments. Thoughtful and respectful interaction will be recognised.
  • Posts that involve plagiarism, fake locations, stolen media or spam will be disqualified and receive no points.

Quick Participation Checklist

Before you publish, make sure you have:

  • Chosen a meaningful Origin Point and pinned it properly on SteemAtlas with a useful description.
  • Written a short but structured story that explains why this place marks the start of your explorer journey.
  • Included between two and four of your own photos from the location.
  • Created and embedded a 20–60 second Speem.watch video with a clear starting message.
  • Hidden one word about yourself as an explorer using an acrostic or emoji code.
  • Commented on at least two other entries and tried to guess their hidden clues.

If all these elements are present, your post is ready to join Week 1 of Geo-Quest Mystery.

Your video has been reviewed by the Video Watchers team.Thank you for your quality content on speem.

Included between two and four of your own photos from the location.

Hi @kouba01. Are you talking about adding my self photo two or four. Or the place photos?

Another question is if I add many pictures like 10 to 15 image on the post, then any Rules break?

Or I add best photos that might in a big amount.
