Hey gang. How are you all doing today? Today… is hot. Hot and humid and hot hot hot. Seems like a good day for a giveaway. What a better way to stay cool than to give something away, eh?
So let’s give something away!

My favorite is Peppermint Stick Ice Cream. One evening many years ago my parents decide to take the family out to our favorite ice cream stand. My brothers and I were excited by the thoughts of enjoying a cool refreshing ice cream on a hot August day. Our plans suddenly changed when my Mom went into labor. Instead of a savoring a delightful treat I end up with a baby sister.
Every year on her birthday I remind my sister of how I missed out on my favorite ice cream. When you are nine years an ice cream versus a baby sister it is a tough call!
Like you, I have Italian ancestry.
Here in Venezuela, the first famous artisan ice cream parlors were from Italians.
We are enriched with gelatos.
My favorite is an elado with raisins marinated in liquor (rum)
His name is Ron with raisins.
Ingredients
1 liter of milk 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla 5 egg yolks 2/3 cup of sugar 1/2 cup of raisins 2 tablespoons of rum 2 egg whites
How to do it
Heat the milk with the vanilla in a saucepan over low heat, until it boils.
Beat the egg yolks very well with sugar, mix with the hot milk and continue beating with the whisk.
Return the saucepan to the heat and heat the mixture, while stirring, until it thickens. Remove from heat and keep moving until it cools completely to prevent cream from forming. Add raisins and rum, and mix well.
Beat the egg whites until they form firm peaks and wrap them in the ice cream mixture.
Pour the mixture of ingredients into a cold mold. Put in the freezer, take out of the freezer and beat with an electric mixer. Return to the freezer and repeat the procedure every 30 minutes.
Enjoy your meal!

Mint chocolate chip is one of my favorites too and the one I get most often because I'm the only one who likes it here so I know it'll be all for me! Muhaha!

Thanks for the tag dude!! mmmm let me see, ice-cream. Its actually freezing cold and raining here in Cape Town, South Africa! so i'm not feeling the hot vibes, but i doo love me some great ice cream.
There is this lovely Italian Ice cream place, not too far from my home. about a 3 km run. They make the most delicious Ice cream i have had, ever. Favorite flavours has got to be Coconut, honeycomb, and Mango Sorbet....that's my top 3!
