Garam Masala, "Hot Spice", Has Many Health Benefits
As a diabetic I am always on the look out for foods and spices that fight diabetes and promote good health. Garam Maala is a spice I recently found and started using that has some amazing health benefits.

Garam Masala is traditionally composed of up to 32 spices which can vary depending on regional traditions for making it.

The basic ingredients in garam masala are a mixture fo black peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, black and green cardamom. Depending on regional and personal taste other ingredients may be bay leaf, white peppercorns, nuts, cumin, onion, chili, garlic, star anise, cubeb, asafetida, and stone flower.
Health Benefits of Garam Masala
The main spice ingredients in garam masala give it some of its health benefits:
- Cumin: This spice is a rich source of iron, promotes the oxygenation of the blood and prevents conditions like cancer, anemia, and improves digestion.

I completely agree. I just got done eating some sprinkled on toasted bread with roasted garlic. I have used garam masala in several dishes so far. My favorites are in Tandoori chicken tikka and sprinkled on my salad.

How 'Hot' is it? I like spicy foods.
I have acquired a taste for spicy foods too. To me it is not that hot. I tend to taste the cinnamon first and then the other spices. Garam Masala is made in different regions using different spices. I think you should be able to find a spicy hot garam masala. Like:

or
