Does Intermittent Fasting Work?
As it turns out, just giving up sugar and most bread (my method 2 for weight loss) does not involve me losing any weight at all. It is quite disappointing, as previously I was consuming a LOT of sugar. I mean a lot. I mean, I haven't gained any weight, but you would think that cutting that sugar out would result in even a small loss, but much to my dismay, no luck. However, the no sugar plan sure has made me feel better, which is still a win.
It is no secret, my body just does NOT like to lose weight. The ONLY successful way I have lost weight in the past is by doing Trim Healthy Mama. I know, the name is super corny, but the diet totally works. It even works for people like me who can't seem to lose a pound any other way.
I am not affiliated with Trim Healthy Mama at all. I just had success losing 30 pounds in about 6 months time with this program. Trim Healthy Mama is not that difficult, and actually quite satisfying. I just don't "feel" like doing it right now. It does take a bit of effort to have meals planned out ahead of time, and although I do plan dinner meals for the family, I just don't feel like spending that much time thinking about my food for the rest of the day.
Enter intermittent fasting. My husband suggested this a while back and I did not think it was legit. But then, I heard Dr. Berg suggesting it on you tube, and decided it might actually work. I like Dr. Berg, as he seems to make sense about a lot of things. And his suggestion for helping plantar fasciitis worked like a charm for my husband, when nothing else would. He still has some pain, but no longer limps around like he was for months previous to me showing him Dr. Berg's video.
Anyway, I decided to try intermittent fasting. I have only been eating between the hours of 1 PM to 6:30 PM every day for a week. Have I lost any weight? NO. However, my energy level is greatly increased! I will be sticking with this for at least 1 month to see what happens. I mean, I did eat some peanut M&Ms yesterday and broke my no sugar rule, but it was within my eating window. Sunday is cheat day I guess. They made me SO sick. Ugh. Which is actually amazing because I am no longer wanting candy.
With increased energy, not being able to tolerate junk food, and possibly a lower grocery bill, a month sounds like a fair trial to see if I can possibly move the scale.
If you have tried intermittent fasting, leave a comment below, I would love to hear your experience.
Love,
Marie
