Health:01 . SWEETS ARE NOT ALWAYS SWEET.....
Today, April 7th is the world health day. This year the motto is 'health for all'. As a physisian i wish you all a healthy life for you and your family.
But,,, but ,are you ready to have a healthy life ?or ,are you already have a healthy life?? I think,its my responsibility to share something nessesary with you about this concern.So, i've started writing my new blog on health and i'm ensuring you it won't be a high thougth literature . I will say you everything as friendly as you expect.So, join with me......
As i mentioned earlier, 'sweets are not always sweet' but why? we need sweets in chrismas ,in holloween or even in any festivals. But when sweet/suger or glucose increases in our body system it isn't a sweet thing, right?
So, basically i'm talking about 'Diabetes Malitus (DM)'
When the circulatory amount of glucose increases in our blood or urine we call it Glucose intolarance. But,when it crosses the limit of normal ranges(greater than 7.0mm0l/L or 126mg/dl in fasting sample or greater than 11.1mmol/L or 200mg/dl in random sample) then it is called DM.
Basically you should be looking for 3Ps ,these are
1.polyuria (more than 3-4L per day)
2.polyphagia( excessive appatite)
3.polydipsia(excessive thirst)
Diabetes can be 2types
1.DM-1: occurs below 20 years of age ,need to take 'Insulin'
2.DM-2: occurs in elderly ,need to maintain 3Ds as Diet,Drug,Discipline.
Besides it can be Diabetes Insipidus due to ADH( anti diuretic hormone) deficiency:
1.central DI: No ADH production,need to adminstrate eogenous ADH therapy.
2.Nephrogenic: due to impairment of kidney and need medication like hydrochlorothiazide,amiloride and plenty of water intake.
GDM(gestational DM) which occurs at pregnancy in a previous non-diabetic female.Its should be treated properly beacause it has adverse effects on your infants.
So, apart these serious discussion, what can we do to be protected? well these are as below:
1.Diet: divide your meal in 4 quadrants, 1 for carbohydrates like bread or rice, 1 for Protein like meat or fish and rest of 2 is for vegetables.
2.change your life style: excercise, cessation of smoking and alcohol
3.Regular check for symptoms as i mentioned
4.Keep in a touch with your health care providers.
You have to live longer for yourself,for your family for your country and for everyone.
Be healthy. Be happy. Be safe.
