Maroon (Music Themed 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge)

Looking out for songs to play, then I saw Maroon 5. I am not really a big fan of the band, though I love some of their songs. There's been a big change on the band's sound since their debut until the present time. When they fully crossed over to pop sound, they're being criticized as sellouts.

It might have been a bad accusation but they're doing it for their love on music. Sticking to the same sound, like for example rock, might show your love for your own music but there's nothing wrong with experimenting. That same accusation was thrown towards Linkin Park on their last studio album "One More Light".

Maroon 5 surely know how to sell records. They're going downhill with the release of their third album, but it was saved when they invited Christina Aguilera for a collaborative version of "Moves Like Jagger", which became their second Billboard number 1 single.

They finally took the more commercial sound for "Overexposed", which sold millions of records. It also scored two big hits "Payphone" and "One More Night". Their fifth album "V" came out with the carrier single "Maps" (also a hit), but success was lengthened through "Sugar".

Their most recent album has been "Red Pill Blues". The album had three official singles released before its release, which didn't quite help the album move with big sales. Remixing the song "Girls Like You" with Cardi B saved the album, and helped to extend the band's success.
