K2 (Karakoram 2) Mountain, Pakistan

K2 towers at 8,611 meters, making it the second-highest mountain on Earth. You’ll find it right where the Karakoram Range straddles the border between Pakistan and China.

People call it the “Savage Mountain,” and that name fits. Climbing K2 is brutally tough—way harder than Everest. The slopes are steep, the weather changes fast, and the risk is sky-high. Not many climbers attempt it, and plenty don’t make it back. For mountaineers chasing real adventure, K2 is still one of the ultimate tests.
