Bracelet Style Keychain | Las 3R-S30W2

Assalamu Alaikum Hope everyone in the Steemit family is doing well. I'm back today at my beloved community Venezolanos Steem to participate in a beautiful and creative contest. This great challenge is organized by the esteemed @lunasilver. He always gives us opportunities to learn new things through eco-friendly and creative work. This week's Reduce – Reuse – Recycle (3R) Challenge Season 30 Week 2 task is to make a Bracelet Style Keychain using scraps of old clothes or fabric. The best part of this kind of work is that we can reuse discarded clothes and at the same time play a small role in protecting the environment . Today I made a bracelet style keychain using scraps of old fabric I have around the house. Below is my entire work process step by step.

Necessary Materials

• Pieces of old jeans.
• Pieces of printed cloth.
• Scissors.
• Yarn, sewing machine.
• Metal key-ring.
• Small strips of cloth.

These pieces of fabric were basically cut from old fabric that I already had in my room. These were usually discarded.But I used them to create a new thing.

Step – 1 : 👇

First I select two fabrics from the pieces of fabric I have. One was an old jeans fabric and the other was a floral design printed fabric. It seems that the design looks better if two fabrics are used together. Then prepare the cloths for proper cutting.

Then I cut the fabric into long strips with scissors. The keychain can be worn like a bracelet on the hand, so it has been cut to length accordingly. It is very important to keep the right size in this step,So that there is no problem while sewing later.

Then I put the clothes straight for sewing. Then I sew around the fabric using a sewing machine. While sewing, the fabric should be moved slowly. So that the stitches are straight and the fabric does not fold. This step takes a bit of patience but is very beautiful if done correctly.

Next I took a metal ring for a keychain and inserted it into one side of the fabric. The key will be inserted through this ring. So fold the end of the fabric and sew it back to make it tight.

After putting on the metal ring I sewed the end piece better. This keeps the ring firmly in place and is unlikely to come loose during use.

Ready made bracelet style keychain.After completing all the steps my Bracelet Style Keychain is complete. It can be worn as a bracelet and can be attached to a key. As a result, it is also very convenient to use and looks quite attractive.

I really enjoyed doing this. Especially the joy of making something new using old clothes is different. On the one hand, the environment can be protected. On the other hand, creativity can also be expressed. Small pieces of cloth can make such a beautiful thing. It's really a great experience.I think this kind of challenge is very beneficial for all of us. In this we can learn something new and also improve our hand work skills.
