No creo mucho en que la vida se encargue de que todo salga bien. Eso lo tienes que hacer tú mismo y no quedarte en casa esperando a que otro lo arregle todo por ti o cumpla su promesa.
In Venezuela, there are cashiers who—typically—speak loudly when someone doesn't have the money to pay for their items. That used to happen to me, but I’ve become thick-skinned; now, instead of getting annoyed, I just laugh—hehe.
En Venezuela, hay cajeras y, normalmente, "hablan alto" cuando alguien no tiene dinero para pagar los productos. Cuando eso me pasaba. Pero me he vuelto sinvergüenza y ahora, en lugar de molestarme, me río, jeje.
Or you ask them if they can lend you some since it seems it never happens to them. Thankfully we have this time behind us and if a cashier would do it most likely all customers would look down at the cashier or scold him.
Being thick skinned is the best. No need to feel ashamed. It happens to many, that is why I prefer to pay cash. At least I can see if I have money and what is left.
And yes, I count the total of my groceries before I go to the cashier.
