¿No tienes dinero?

In Venezuela, there are cashiers who—typically—speak loudly when someone doesn't have the money to pay for their items. That used to happen to me, but I’ve become thick-skinned; now, instead of getting annoyed, I just laugh—hehe.

Or you ask them if they can lend you some since it seems it never happens to them. Thankfully we have this time behind us and if a cashier would do it most likely all customers would look down at the cashier or scold him.

Being thick skinned is the best. No need to feel ashamed. It happens to many, that is why I prefer to pay cash. At least I can see if I have money and what is left.

And yes, I count the total of my groceries before I go to the cashier.

Thank you for stopping by and rewarding good comments. I wonder if you read and like to share your opinion as well @lhorgic

A good weekend!

Oh yea...I sure have something to share.
This story is such an emotional one from @solperez, I want to believe this is a fiction but then things like this happen in real life and they can be one of the most embarrassing moments one can ever go through. I think people should do better in relating with others, the cashier wasn't helpful with the way she handled things in the way he/she spoke....I'm happy about the surprise she got at home and the fact that she now has two jobs that should cater for subsequent need. This is a story of hope and a big turnaround...

Imam.happy you shared your thoughts. Better it would be if the father of the children would handle his own businesses instead of letting his new gf/wife take care of it. At least he paid her groceries and delivered them home, although he didn't look for the upset mother of his children.

Two jobs is hard for a single mother...

You're actually right, not good on the path of the father that he is not considering the feeling of the already upset mother, I hope he comes to realize how this hurts. Oh yeah! Taking up two jobs isn't as easy as we think for a woman but if this is a just a means to an end, then I think it's worth taking...better than being bowed over by shame and lack. My thoughts though.

Being independent is a good thing, but always being worried and exhausted can also break a person and affect the family life.

Thank you for the chat. You should do that more often.
