just a small addendum to "block"-chain ... in steemit indeed the blocks dont need mining i think it was called PoB (proof of brain) back when larrimer was still around (as opposed to PoW for bitcoin proof of "work" i think, its been a loooong time)
You could actually embed small messages in bitcoin transactions too but a block , the genius of the elusive Satoshi Nakamoto, is a link in the chain that can only fit exactly between two specific other ones, the data is encrypted in a way that its "linked" like a chain and one block of data can only sit in one position between two specific other ones and nowhere else.
Thats why its supposed to be an immutable ledger (thats why steemit has all your edits in it, even if you change one letter, unless they added cooldown before embedding but i doubt they did that. Someone here years ago , a witness too back then, explained to me when i asked why they didnt have the cooldown (it makes sense to keep the datavolume down for one thing) before embedding that Ned Scott (larrimers other half who stayed around until Justin Sun took over , whoever the bossman is right now i dont know, i dont live on planet earth anymore we have all moved with the teknomages beyond the rim awaiting the great cataclysm of 2050)

So how ned scott did not want cooldown on purpose, the guy said he had a background working at the NSA (!) of all places and he wanted to keep all data ever in case there ever was an audit .
So as immutable as it is, on the front-end they can still filter what the client displays but if you were to write your own its likely that you can get all edits everyone ever made to every post and reply ever posted (unless they changed that)
the only way to really alter the data would be to re-stream the whole chain from block one and leave out the blocks containing the data you dont want, while adding data from blocks you only want half to other ones and then meshing the data you want to keep in each subsequent block until you are back at the present. Some datacenter could probably do that fairly fast as difficulty here does not apply and they can just adjust the number of blocks that get produced ...

I was in the understanding that Justin Sun bought only one share but about a week ago I've been told he is the only owner.
Let's see if in the nearest future Steemit will undergo a new hard fork. there's a bot (owner) testing here and blurt and intends to start the own blockchain (same concepts, same accounts and same issues and hardships unless it's starting at zero.

Whoever wants to fork it off must have a real good blockchain guru at hands, also the server network and the nodes so there can be no take-over ... plus actually im sure if they continued the documentation after the split between steem and hive.
theres been other forks but they dwindled into nothingness, theres been clones, and this is already at 13 cents, another cent down since yesterday.
The only one around here i still see making posts with tek know-how is justyy (a witness too) from the uk i think hes got a few interfaces to delegate and vote using steem.js

leading me to believe the whole country has been taken over by triffids long ago and there's not one living soul left

i once tried to give a few here a free account to try and spread the gospel in the sticks and they thought i was trying to scam them because thats not facebook

And the money, im not sure if i said it here yet , but definitely several times in several places :i wont cash out unless its enough. If its not i'll just leave it all to rot in the accounts.

i gtg, steemit has been taking too much time lately , they should have put up some gatcha games or something and used the money to fund it but the hyper-inflation you get here (or had) would require a lot of input
At times the situation makes me laugh and sad or the other way round or angry. I recognise a lot especially if it comes to police (je beste vriend, slechtste slogan ooit).
If you believe it or not you are way more intelligent than the average (above average) person I speak.
There are more and more games on Steemit, thebquestion is if they are good enough to win from all those already existing.
If youbstill don't understand why I ask for your paypal, bankaccount or.. I give up. It's your good right not to share and not to trust anyone.
