It came from this decorative Palm tree.

I am always attracted to the fruits of palm trees like that of those edible ones like of course, the coconut fruits which is very useful as a food source, a hydration source, coconut wine, coconut sugar, dish ingredient, and various applications of its oil and more. The coconut is said to be a "tree of life" for the reason that the entire tree from its roots to its leaves have a use both for humans. Even if the tree dies, its rotting trunk can bear beetle worms which for some people is a source of food. Other species of palm trees also can be used to gather wines where it can also be gathered from developing coconut buds as well, delectable nuts which can be eaten as it is or preserved whereas other species can yield a sticky flesh which other people use as food or an ingredient to another food product using it as a nice flavoring.

Being a traditional stimulant is another use of another species of palm nut family which is called a Betel nut and named locally as "bunga" or "fruit" in English word equivalent if you are referring to it. The betel nut is still used by some cultures in Asia to give them a sense of well-being, energy (because it is a stimulant, and cuts back hunger. But my great grandmother and her daughter which is my grandmother, aunt of my father says that they use it to strengthen their teeth, well I believed them before but not anymore lol. Anyway people that use it would mix it with some lime powder, Betel leaves, and sometimes a hot pepper caked shaped like a matchbox to stimulate salivation.

I saw my great grandmother prepared it as her daily ritual, she also has a "spitoon" where she uses to "let out" the juices generated while she chews it. I guess that the stimulant effect does gave her a sense of comfort and maybe joy and energy because again, Betel nut is a stimulant and had been used by many old folks maybe from time immemorial. I also tried it myself along with the hot pepper cake but to my regret, I couldn't tolerate the hot pepper and so I ran out from my grandmother's house and back to our house tens of meters away just to wash my mouth, I was still a young kid back then.

Anyway, this species of palm nut has an attractive bunch of fruits, I do not see any flies kissing the already fallen fruits which I can use as a gauge that this fruit doesn't taste sweet at all. But I had seen some species that have a similar-looking fruit but smaller in size and is plucked by birds so maybe that smaller species of palm tree has a sweet variety of fruit. The coconut husk either young or mature has an inedible husk but the flesh inside the one which is edible along with its refreshing coconut water. Yesterday I finally had the chance to make a normal and macro photography of this type of a palm nut and it is nice to see it up-close where it seems to be delicious but I know that in the past, there are animals which are now no longer existing are eating these attractive palm fruits regardless of its taste.
