Recently we did maintenance to one of our computers but today I will go a little further; one of our machines started to fail to turn on so we decided to do a checkup. To begin with they checked the power supply since the failure occurs when turning it on; sometimes it turns on and other times it stays on standby and I have to restart it again, of course that is not a big problem but as the days go by the problem increases and I have to restart four or even five times to get it to start. So they uncovered the power supply; when we saw it we remembered that about a year ago or a little more it had also failed so we had to change the fan; only this time the failure was something else.
I was given the task of thoroughly checking each component and let me know if I found anything strange or black spotted as if it had been burned and also that certain components may be swollen compared to others like it. After checking a couple of times carefully I only got this component that you can see in the image slightly raised or swollen; we tried with another power supply and the computer turned on without any mishap. Although this power supply has been working for several years we intend to do a test in which I will participate directly. We will look for that component and try to replace it and see how it goes; so I will be waiting to show you what I do, regardless if it works or not. Hace poco le hicimos mantenimiento a una de nuestras computadoras pero hoy indagare un poco más allá; una de nuestras maquinas comenzó a fallar en el encendido por lo que decidimos hacer un chequeo. Para comenzar revisaron la fuente de poder ya que la falla ocurre al prenderla; algunas veces prende y otras se queda en espera y debo reiniciarla nuevamente, por supuesto eso no es gran problema solo que con el pasar de los días el problema aumenta y debo reiniciar cuatro o hasta cinco veces para que arranque. Así que destaparon la fuente de poder; al verla recordamos que hace como un año o un poco más también había fallado por lo que hubo que cambiar el ventilador; solo que en esta oportunidad la falla era otra cosa.
Me encomendaron la tarea de revisar minuciosamente cada componente y avisara si encontraba algo extraño o manchado de negro es decir como si se hubiese quemado además que ciertos componentes pueden estar hinchados en comparación con otros iguales. Después de revisar un par de veces cuidadosamente solo conseguí este componente que pueden ver en la imagen levemente levantado o hinchado; probamos con otra fuente de poder y la computadora prendió sin ningún contratiempo. A pesar de que esta fuente de poder ya tiene varios años funcionando pretendemos hacer una prueba en la cual participare directamente. Buscaremos ese componente e intentaremos reemplazarlo a ver cómo nos va; por lo que estaré pendiente de enseñarles lo que haga, indiferentemente si funciona o no. Bueno amigos espero tengan un día, tarde o noche genial según donde se encuentren.
