RE: ¿Todo gran éxito tiene un costo oculto? Reflexiones tras escuchar a Jeff Bezos
In the beginning, Amazon was nothing more than an online book retailer. Then music and films were added to the mix. Gradually, this segmented offering became universal and generalist. I can see that local retailers are suffering at the hands of online providers. Well, that doesn't bother me much. Online retailers, in turn, are suffering from giants like Amazon. On the one hand, I find that worrying, but on the other hand, I have to be honest: no other mail order company offers me such fabulous customer support! The staff are available and solve your problems in no time at all. If other providers could do the same, I'd be happy to shop there... but that's not the case.
Did you know that Jeff Bezos himself said in 2018 that he predicts his company will have a lifespan of about 30 years? In his view, this is in line with the laws governing such gigantic companies. He emphasised the positivity of this predicted development.
EL modelo de negocio de Amazon me gusta, es sencillamente genial, genera mucho empleo, fue algo que empezó Bezos, junto a la esposa (esto no podemos olvidarlo), desde cero, visión no falto, para mí es un ejemplo de muchas cosas, aprovechó el momento que vivía, lo cual es más que aplaudible.
Hay muchas otras empresas que ya hacen lo mismo, sólo qu eya esta, Amazon, tinee su nombre, su sistema, y por lo entiendo, sigue siendo la más eficiente. Sin embargo, siempre detrás de cada éxito, respetable, hay detalles, en la actualidad se habla mucho de las condiciones laborales de los trabajadores, así como de competencia desleal por parte de la compañía para quedarse con el negocio de venta de otros, así que no sólo gana por el procesamiento de los productos para su entrega, sino que también se queda con negocios de otros.
Otra cosa que debo destacar, es la amplia diversificación que está teniendo en empresas clave de esta era, incluso satélites, servicio en la nube, empresa aeroespacial, en fin, es algo que sigue creciendo de formas impresionantes. Gracias por comentar.
We had heard similar things for a long time and mostly avoided buying from Amazon. Until we got to know real employees from Amazon's offices and warehouses – friends of neighbours... – who raved about the best employer ever! Beyond the legal requirements – support after long-term illness, employee loans, free choice of location, special payments... As I understand it, these poor working conditions affect delivery drivers, who often work as subcontractors. That doesn't make it any better; Amazon could use its market power to provide relief.
