༻꧂The Silent Clockmaker༻꧂

In a silent valley, where the mist covered the fields. The forest whispered. There lived a sheep who was different from all the others. His fur was not the bright white of ordinary sheeps. It is a deep dusky gray. His eyes shone with centuries of patience. The villagers called him Erasmus. Well no one really knew if that was his real name. He had lived there for as long as anyone could remember and maybe longer.

Erasmus had a strange habit: collecting watches. At night he would come quietly into the village, carrying small items with him: a screw, a small gear, a broken pocket watch. Everything was precious to him, like pieces of a great puzzle of time. By morning, he would have made several clocks, whose ticking would melt into a strange harmony, a song that only he could hear.

But Erasmus was not satisfied with ordinary clocks. No, he wanted to make watches that could hold memories. Day and night he would carve small wooden faces and mark the silver gears. He said that when the wind in the valley blows in the right direction, his watches capture memories. The echoes of laughter, the sighs of sadness, the soft murmur of the river on a summer night.

Then guys one evening a girl named Leora wandered into the fog with curiosity and fearlessness. She had heard stories about sheep. Some scary and some magical. She wanted to see for herself. He found Erasmus surrounded by clocks, hundreds of clocks, their tiny hands spinning in delicate chaos.
"Who are you?" he asked in surprise.
Erasmus bowed his head, and his eyes reflected the faint light of the lantern. "I am the keeper of moments," he said in a soft but firm voice like turning a page. "Every tick is a heartbeat; every tick is a memory. And every memory should be remembered."

Leora sat quietly beside him, watching as he tended to a small clock that smelled of pine trees and rain. With a soft click, the clock started, and suddenly, Leora began to hear it: her grandmother's lullaby, which she had forgotten, the laughter of her friends on the hill, and the soft raindrops on the roof.

Night after night, Leora would return, helping Erasmus, cleaning the brass gears and replacing broken parts. Gradually, the villagers began to notice that she had changed. She walked calmly now, grasping every moment, and cherishing every memory.

And in this valley, where the mist and the forest tell their stories, Erasmus and Leora learn that memories live not only in moments, but also in hearts with a tick, with a moment, forever.
