Diving into the African history, Today’s sketch emphasize on the Eyo masquerade (African festival) which happens annually in Nigeria, Lagos precisely. The Yoruba masquerade is a celebration of the city cultural and traditions, commonly known as “Adamu orisha play”, The white robes and the masquerade's dances evoke the metaphysical link between the living and the dead. it represents the spirit of the ancestors and a way of remembering and honoring the ancestors.

THE LEADS:
The piece was made with white pencil on acid free black paper.

It all started with the careful sketch.

Then to the details..started with the hat with much lighting.

Then I proceed to adding more details to the cloth and all but i always start with my lightest tone to avoid any rush conclusion with my lightest tone.

I wonder if this figure wears a mask since it remind me of what I once saw in Western Africa. It was due to some "festival".

What does the hashtag #daily means?

Did you ever draw with crayon?

Obviously their face don’t show….and might probably be what you saw during your visit, that’s if it’s Nigeria.

The #daily is just an hashtag though.

Can’t remember the last time I drew with crayon though..lol, should probably try that anytime soon but could be the oil medium of crayon.

Greetings, friend
The pose you chose is very suggestive, and the white pencil on black technique was ideal. I imagine being able to see it physically, having it in front of me.

However, I can only see it in the image version, and I am struck by the different styles of tracing and filling that you used when trying to draw the light on the figure. In my opinion, they take away depth and make it look like a two-dimensional square.

I recognize your work and effort, but the drawing does not impress me to the point of saying wow.

Thanks for your comment and thoughts on the piece, as a versatile artist, I love to explore even though I have my initial signature.. and I believe as an artist we are meant to explore.

And you know sometimes pictures don’t really do justice to the works we post…I hope to start making videos of my works real soon, to capture their essence..
