Returned Sunday from several days in sunny South Carolina. I could have used a holiday, but it was more of a workaday hanging out with my mother, seeing to her needs—keeping company, making meals, watching the wheels go round and round from her balcony. Long breaks in painting work with no time to think will rapidly age a youthful mind. Fortunately, I was able to find time before sunrise each day to make some Free Art cards to use as bookmarks for future book giveaways. Expensive water soluble crayon drawings with Advertism on the back.

Back home I painted a couple oils for Free Art. I need to come up with interview ideas for cold springtime in rural America. The Camden Market Free Art Man has London, and a never-depleting supply of human beings. I have flocks of birds just passing through for freeze-dried berries. Yesterday a local politician came to my door to talk about water treatment plants and zoning readjustments. After she left I wondered why I didn’t interview her for the Free Art movie. I need to take these rare opportunities. I’ll keep a box of free art in the trunk of my car so there will be product for sharing when the time is right.
