Incredible India Monthly Contest of June#2: Nature vs Technology!
Greetings to all my friends in this beautiful Steem community. Today I want to share my thoughts on a topic that touches every part of our daily life — the relationship between nature and technology, and which one truly holds more power over the other.
In your opinion, which holds greater power: nature or science and technology? Please provide a detailed explanation. |
|---|
In my respectful opinion, nature is far more powerful than any science or technology that humankind has created. We have seen, throughout history, how a single flood can destroy a whole village, how an earthquake can bring down our strongest buildings, and how a volcano can change the weather of the entire world for years.
With all our advanced machines and inventions, we still cannot stop these events from happening. We can only try to predict them and prepare ourselves.
Technology is powerful in its own way too. We have made great progress — we can cure diseases, build tall buildings, and even send machines to other planets. But this power always works inside the rules that we ourselves have made.
Nature's power does not depend on any rule made by us. It simply exists, with or without our permission. This is why, in my view, nature will always remain the senior power, and technology is only a junior partner trying to understand it.

Nature is the root of invention! Your viewpoint! |
|---|
Whenever I think deeply about any invention, I find that it always started with something nature already showed us. Velcro came from a scientist studying how small burrs stick to clothing. Airplanes came from careful study of how birds fly.
Even today's most modern computer networks are designed based on how the human brain works, which nature created long before any scientist was born. Because of this, I do not see technology as something separate from nature, or against nature. I see it more like a student learning from a very wise teacher. We did not invent electricity — nature already had lightning.
We only learned how to capture a small part of that same power and use it for our daily needs. So whenever we praise an invention, we are, in truth, also praising nature, because every invention has its root there.
Every action has its own reaction applicable to nature, science and technology! Justify the term! |
|---|
We have all studied that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This rule, given to us by science, applies not only to physics but to almost everything happening around us, in nature as well as in technology.
In nature, the reaction is quick and easy to notice. If we cut down forests without thought, the soil becomes weak and erosion follows soon. If we catch too many fish from the ocean, the balance of marine life is disturbed within a short time. Nature gives its reaction almost immediately, without delay.
In technology, the reaction takes more time to appear, but it is just as real. We built vehicles for our comfort and fast travel, and the reaction has come in the form of pollution and rising global temperature. We built mobile phones to bring people closer, and the reaction is that many people now feel more alone than before, even while being constantly connected.
We developed large-scale farming methods for more food production, and the reaction is soil degradation and loss of natural forest land.
The lesson, I believe, is the same in both fields: nothing comes without a cost. Nature simply shows us the cost sooner, while technology often hides it for many years, which can fool us into thinking our actions are free of consequence.
My conclusion |
|---|
Nature is the original and eternal power. Technology is a newer tool, created by us, dependent on us, and still learning the secrets that nature has held since the beginning of time. Nature does not need humans to exist, but technology cannot exist without humans.
This single fact tells us clearly where the greater power truly lies. Still, the wisdom that both nature and technology teach us is the same — every action carries its own reaction, and respecting this truth is perhaps the most valuable lesson we can carry forward into the future.

I largely agree with your opinion that the power of nature surpasses science and technology, human inventions that offer some answers to nature's great mysteries.
The brute force of nature is destructive, as you mentioned with earthquakes, floods, and volcanoes, which can undoubtedly wipe out entire populations.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the power of nature and science.
I wish you all the best.
It's true that nature shows us where we are doing it right in the case of soil degradation, and it's mostly underrated.
I also love this point that you said that nature could survive on it own but technology, no way! it survive without human.
Nice writeup👌🏾
