The discrepancy between a daily routine and a diary game!

Yesterday, I was tenacious in expressing my viewpoint regarding the distinction between
what is commonly referred to as

and the concept of

a daily routine.

From my perspective, many individuals who participate in what they term a diary game are essentially documenting their daily routines.

This includes activities such as waking up, completing household chores, consuming meals, and reflecting on how the day concludes.

In this context, I propose the use of the hashtag
#mydayroutine rather than #thediarygame.

I believe that a diary serves as a repository for sharing our emotions, daily achievements, and various feelings—be they positive, negative, or mixed—as well as the lessons learned throughout the day.

I emphasise this point because, while we cannot reverse the passage of time, we can turn the pages of a diary to revisit the insights gained from past experiences.

If an individual wishes to share their daily chores, this activity should not be categorised as a diary game.

Instead, it represents a record of daily activities,
which suitably aligns with the aforementioned hashtag.

The essence of a diary is far more profound than mere record-keeping; it acts as a confidant, safeguarding our secrets without judgment.

Historically, individuals utilised diaries to articulate thoughts and feelings they may not have felt comfortable sharing with others, thus cherishing those invaluable emotions and experiences in a secure place.

Therefore, one must question the notion of labelling a diary as a game.

• A diary is a steadfast companion that does not betray our emotions or insights.

• It facilitates rejuvenation by allowing us to articulate our thoughts and feelings, making it a space to express the nuances of a particular day rather than a repository for routine tasks.

Conversely, one could title an entry

and provide a detailed account of the activities undertaken that day.

In my opinion, writing is an art, and I do not believe that tedious recording of activities and random photographs contribute meaningfully to the purpose of a diary.

Throughout our daily interactions, we encounter diverse individuals,
each exhibiting their unique communication styles.

Observing people in transit—be it by road, rail, water, or air—and in busy environments such as shopping malls, can evoke a range of emotions, from humour to empathy, and even frustration.

Moreover, it presents us with opportunities to learn from their conduct, such as offering a seat to an elderly person!
a pregnant lady, or someone with a physical disability.

The distinction between a daily routine, characterised by a sequence of activities, and a diary, which encapsulates the lessons learned and experiences obtained throughout the day, is significant.
