Hi everyone, It's good to be here again and participating in this contest... Today, I will be talking about what I usually tell people offline when they try to back up their proposition that there is no money online. I usually tell them "I made my first 100k writing on steemit and all I did was subscribe and create quality content.

So down to the questions begging for individual answers in this contest.

Tell us how you first got to know and decided to join Steemit.

Like I've always written in my previous posts few months back, a course mate of mine introduced me to this platform just few weeks after the ASUU strike was called off. At first, I was so reluctant about joining that I didn't inquire more.

Two weeks he called me to tell me about it again and I blatantly told him that I am not interested and then he ended the call with a statement that struck me "if he didn't trust the platform, he wouldn't want just be convincing me just to throw away my money and all" At this point, I had to call him back and then he promised not to tell me anything opportunity if this didn't work out.

I reluctantly registered and he put me through on how to make my first post. I did this and got $13 which made me happy and more interested in the platform. So, in a nutshell, this friend and course mate of mine told me about steemit and his persistent follow up, made me decide to join the platform.

In your opinion, what are the advantages of Steemit compared to other similar platforms.

Well, before now, I have tried out other platforms which made me conclude that it doesn't pay online. But the case is different with steemit and you would agree with me the following applies here which isn't same in other platforms:

Its supportive: Unlike every other platforms where you have to publish for quite a long time before you will get noticed or considered, steemit platform is scheduled in such a way that once you publish your first post in the newcomers community and get consistent afterwards, your post keeps getting curated as long as it's of great quality.

For instance, I got voted for my first post ever on newcomers community and didn't get more afterwards but on a closer examination I noticed the reason was because my posts has low quality and things changed after I learnt how to use markdowns and create quality posts on the platform.

To think of the fact that steemit also has a curation trail or encourages other users to power up for them to be able to support other users post is what makes it very different from other platforms.

There is need for zero skill: Every other platform will require a particular range of writing skill but in steemit, what you just need is the right use of words and the fact that other languages are welcomed is another considerable measure in the platform.
Compared to other platforms where you have to just write in English language and need a particular level of education.

Teachable: One of the things I loved about the platform at first was the fact that I get the opportunity to learn from different persons and field.
The average knowledge I was able to get on cryptocurrency was courtesy of steemit platform and this has helped me...

When people from other countries write about their diary games, it gives me an idea of what lives abroad looks like.

When I engage in contest, I also learn how to come up with a lot of work of art and creativity.

Needless to say that steemit has become a consistent financial source for a lot of committed members. This is one thing that other platforms cannot guarantee or keep up with.

Longevity: The platform has been in existence for 7 years and counting and still standing the heat of transformations. When compared to other platforms, most of them has crumbled a long time ago and this cannot be attributed to one or two reasons.

Write down your main motivation and purpose for joining Steemit.

As at the time I joined the platform, my aim of joining steemit was to make cool cash at least to support my parents in my schooling. And as at when I started getting little cash from the platform, I kee0 setting goals that helped me to keep going.

At first, i needed to get a new phone to be able to capture quality images and I was able to do this. Recently, I need to upgrade to an xs mas iphone which would help me in my content creation and this happens to be motivation for this period

Do you intend to power down? or even more excited to power up? Tell us ! and what is your strategy not to lose your club status.

In time past, I have powered down and coming back, it has weighed my voting power down so much and don't intend doing such right now.

I am currently in club5050 status and instead of powering down, I have the intention of upgrading to club75 in time to come as I now know the how beneficial maintaining this status is to the individual, community and other users.

Firstly, I want to get myself the phone In the picture above after which I will now upgrade to club75 and continue growing from there while I get committed in posting and upvoting others.

Write briefly, your goals and hopes with Steemit
The opportunity I've seen in the power up and want to clinge to is to save up my steem coins on this platform pending the next bull run in crypto market.

The idea is to cash out big... While I withdraw the remaining percentage to meet up with my financial goals in the nearest future.

Again, I want to thank steem Entrepreneurs community for such an opportunity to search into our minds to read our motivating strengths and on that note, I would like to invite @justice009, @mirabelify and @olivia to join this contest and tell us what motivates them to keep going in this platform.

Sort:

Your post has been supported by @simonnwigwe from Team 2 of the Community Curation Program, at 30%. We invite you to continue sharing quality content on the platform, and continue to enjoy support, and also a likely spot in our weekly top 7.
