It's another day of the week and I'm delighted to participate in this contest today organized by @sahmie which talks about The Debate (no.27); equality and equity. I will be making my entry below so read through it and drop your valuable comment as it will be appreciated.

Tell us what you understand by equality and equity.

The term equality in my little understanding means to be equal with anyone you are with at the point and time when the statement is used. This means if it is in a work place, equality simply means that you and your colleagues are equal and you have thesame right, the same opportunity and you have the same saying in everything that is happening.

Equality means no one is greater than the other all of you are thesame and no one is greater than the other. So when there is equality in the land or in our working place we won't look than on others especially women working with us.

Equity on the other hand means to be just and fair in your dealing with people. This means that you won't take side no matter the person you are dealing with. What you do to Mr. A should be done to Mr. B and so on.

Equity means you don't show any partiality in your dealing. You treat everyone thesame and equal. For me equality and equity is almost thesame thing. This is because if you treat everyone thesame or you see everyone as thesame you have portrayed equality and when you don't do partialty sharing anything you have portrayed equity which is justice.

Everything that has an advantage also has a disadvantage and today, I will be sharing with us the advantages and the disadvantages of equality and equity below.

Advantages of Equality & Equity

• When there is equality and equity in a place, people will not be look down upon.

• When there is equality and equity everything that will be distributed in a gathering will be done fairly.

• Everyone will see his or her self as important fellow if there is equity and equality.

Disadvantages of Equality & Equity

• In a place where there is equality & equity, everyone will not want to submit to the other because they feel they are all thesame.

• With equality and equity the work load won't go well because no one will be able to talk to the other knowing that they are all equal.

• With equity, some that did more work than others won't get the chance of getting more reward because others who won't be getting the reward won't allow it.

Both equality and equity is almost thesame thing for me. But since I have to select one which I prioritise I will go with equity. I prioritise equity because all my life I don't like injustice so I always want fairness.

When there is equity in a society you will notice that the society trives and stand out and everyone within the society prospers because people will be given their entitlement no matter who or what they are.

So equity is my preference here because equality to some extent is not the best in some situations but equity will promote fairness and justice in the land.
