Which do you prefer: working from home or the office?

---

My preferred workplace is my home. All my work can be done online, and for that reason, I prefer working from the comfort of my home. I stay alone at home and I have my studies where I often stay and work without any noise or distraction since my compound is not a noisy type.

Working from home enables me to work more efficiently and effectively because there is zero distraction and also I put my full attention to work. This is not the same for office work because I get distracted by colleagues around, and I don't get to do my work completely.

In my home, I work at a very fast pace because I'm alone and I'm focused and the job that I was supposed to do ordinarily for 6 hours in the office can be achieved for 3 hours at home and that gives me extra time to do other things such as research and studies or possibly entertain myself.

Does working from home boost your productivity?

As earlier mentioned, working from home boosts my productivity very well because I'm alone and have no distractions. Since I'm working from the comfort of home, it becomes easier for me to meet the target or finish the work that I have for the day easily.

While working from home, I don't have friends around who will always distract me or want us to have conversations; hence, my main focus will be on the job I have in front of me, and that will make me focus and yield better output on time.

So I believe that working from home boosts my productivity because it's an area where I'm very free and convenient while doing the job.

How does the office environment affect your mood?

The office environment affects my working based on the little distractions as well as conversations that my friends and colleagues come up with whenever I'm in the office trying to work.

In the office, I can't stay isolated because even though I have my working space, there are people who will always come to check up on me to greet me or even gist me about something, and this will draw me back a bit.

Since I can not ignore them while working, I may need to give them part of the attention and time I was supposed to use and get a little work done so that they won't feel that I neglected them or don't value their company.

Do you miss social interactions when working remotely?

Most times, when working remotely, I miss social interaction with others because, as the saying goes, all work without play makes Simon a dull boy. So, putting much effort into work isolated, you may get bored or tired and need to cool off a bit, and that is when social interaction becomes very necessary.

However, over time, I have found an alternative that helps relieve some of the stress or boredom I get while working remotely from home, and that is going on social media such as Facebook and TikTok to watch comedy and jokes to put a smile on my face.

What’s your ideal work setup?

My ideal work setup is a noise-free environment and a well-furnished chair and table, which will give me much balance when working. Also, snacks beside me so that as I work alone, I will have something to keep myself busy with helps me to get the job done without delay.

Usually, anytime I wish to start my work, I always ensure I have taken my bath and have my snacks ready in my working space. This helps me to be free and comfortable and also concentrate deeply while doing the work since I may spend hours on the job.

Social Media has also become an important tool for me because anytime I'm stressed out with the many activities, I go there to cool off and then regain energy and strength and concentrate better thereafter.
