How are you all ? Hope you are all well? Alhamdulillah I am fine too. I feel happy that I am going to participate in Week-1 of Steemit Learning Challenge-22. Learning season is now underway. Through which we came to know about various things. First of all I thank my teacher of the day. @ashkhan for choosing such a beautiful topic "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" to teach us. I am trying to share what I got from his post in my language below.

What is carpal tunnel syndrome? Write in your own language after gaining knowledge from the lesson post.

  • CTS is basically what we call carpal tunnel syndrome. which flows through the carpal tunnel as pressure is applied to the nerve. This nerve can be said to be the main driving force of all the fingers of our hands. Which controls the sensation and movement of all the fingers, index, and middle fingers of the hand.

Because

Carpal tunnel syndrome is mainly caused by various reasons. For example, compression of the median nerve can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome through the wrist. If a person does any work related to the use of wrists in excess, then this type of disease occurs. Especially those who type on computers, students or officers who spend most of the day writing with a pen, this kind of problem occurs. CTS can also be congenital in people, and many have arthritis. This problem also occurs during pregnancy.

Notice,

  • The muscles of the hand are very sore. Pain is felt mostly at night. Many times fingers and wrists get tired when going to work.

Types

There are different types of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). I may have CTS if you've ever had a severe injury for some reason. And sometimes it can go to extremes. When CTS is first diagnosed, there is usually no known cause. However, if someone has diabetes, then CTS can be severe or moderate.

How do you diagnose a carpal tunnel syndrome? Any clinical investigations or evaluation tests?

In the initial stage, when we understand the target of carpal tunnel syndrome, we would like to start doing some special exercises at home on our own. So that our CTS can be tried to reduce a lot at the beginning. But when it is seen that the carpal tunnel syndrome is getting too much, then a doctor should be consulted. An experienced doctor should be consulted. And something special to check. With the help of which the nervous conditions can be well understood. Some of the tests are as follows-

• Phalen's test
• Reverse Phalen's test
• Tinnel's sign
• Median nerve compression etc.

Try to practice at least 3 exercises that you learned from the lesson. Share images, gifs or videos while practicing with favorite gifs or videos.

I tried the wrist flexion and wall push up exercises. Which I tried to show in my video. I tried two exercises by hand.

Another one is, standing, the arm should be stretched long and the neck should be moved to the left. I tried it, as a result of which the pain after tension in the wrist can be reduced a little.

Share your review after performing these exercises on yourself, a healthy person or a patient.

In fact, when I was under the pressure of studying for admission for fourteen long months. I had to hold the pen and write for most of the day. As a result, my hand muscles and wrists hurt at times. That's why Aman used to make fists. But I did not know so many ways to reduce the pain. I learned everything from today's class. Which I might do next time to ease my pain.

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.

Observations

Task 1 (2.8/3)
You have shared a great knowledge about carpal tunnel syndrome, its symptoms, cause, and it's types. But didn't add the name of all types. There are 4 types that I explained in the lesson. Acute, chronic, primary and secondary. A bit more depth require to complete the answer. I appreciate your effort.

Task 2 (2/3)
In the second question, you tell us about how you have to assess a patient by doing special tests but you didn't add physical examination, history taking, and investigations. Also it would be better to add explanation of special tests. Good.

Task 3 (4/4)
You try the CTS stretches, wrist rotations, median nerve glides and arm prayer stretch exercises. You did the CTS stretch, wrist rotations, median nerve glides and arm prayer stretch correctly. Always remember to apply heat pack before performing exercises to relax the muscles and reduce stiffness. I appreciate your efforts.

Overall you made a great attempt to answer all the questions. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome or any type of wrist. Thank you.
