Tourism with Agriculture

Agritourism is an activity where the tourism sector and agricultural sector combine to create new income generation path to people who involve in Agri base enterprises. Agritourism develop as farm accommodation, farm tours, fam base activities and entertainment programs etc. This all activities combined with agriculture which mainly involve with a farm premises or farm family. In here there are many advantages, it is important to develop additional income for farm family, create new employment opportunities, farmers can sell their products directly to the tourists without involving middle man, social and cultural development, development of infrastructure facilities in rural area, reduce migration from rural area to urban area, etc. There are many disadvantages with that enterprise, some of them are, environmental pollution, impact to farmers cultural and social activities, young generation addict to wrong behavior (drugs like things) … but we can control those negatives impacts by applying rules and regulations to maintain special guide to manage them.

Agritourism develop as cabana, cottage or as a farm house to give accommodation for tourists. Cabana and cottages develop in a place which has natural attractiveness. Farm house is farmers give accommodation for tourists in their place itself. In here they build separate two to three rooms with attached bathroom to facilitate them. This farm house important to closely involve with farmers day to day activities and cultural events which give new experiences.
Meals can allow to prepare themselves or can make outlet to sell foods and separately earn income for that. This type of activities important to earn dollars because tourism is main sector which brings dollars to Sri Lanka. Tourists like to involve in those culture events and they like to engage with farms activates so we can develop new employment opportunities through this.
Now, under this economic crisis we try to develop our system and have to encourage entrepreneurs because they mainly involve with brigs dollars to Sri Lanka. 😍😍
