Old School Sports Meet - Bring Back Old Memories
Yesterday, the sports meet of Balummahara Sri Rahula College took place. This is my old school, where I went from grades 1 to 11. Participating in this event brought back a lot of memories for me. It started at 2.00 p.m and ended at 7.00 p.m.
I was excited to see my old school friends after a long time. We all caught up and discussed about the old times. I even bought ice cream for all of my friends as a treat. We watched the 100m, 200m, and 400m races, and it was exciting to see the athletes compete.
In my school, there are 3 houses. Those are Shuura, Weera, Deera. This year Deera won the first place. Shuura won 2nd place. I belonged to Shuura house at that time. I can remember we won the sports meet in several years.
My brother also participated in a race and he won. He was part of a 100m * 4 relay race, and he and his team did a fantastic job. There was also an alumni race, in which my friends took part. It was interesting to see them still compete after all these years. They also won first place. I recorded the race and uploaded it to youtube. You can also watch it from the below link.
At the end of the sports meet, there was a drill show. It was very beautiful and the talent on display was impressive. The whole day was very fun and it brought back a lot of old memories for me. I am glad I was able to participate and relive some of my childhood memories.
