Back to Ahungalla with my former crime partner after 6 years

There was a past when I used to go for bicycle rides to discover new paths, have walks in the twilight to stalk our targets and made sudden but frequent visits to beach. My partner in crime who led me towards all of these was my bestie at lit class. We used to go to Hikkaduwa beach after our lit class and we usually ended up in Ahungalla beach in our so called “study dates”. We were so crazed about sea baths to the point that her mum had to carry extra clothes for us after sea baths and blankets to protect her car. Sometimes my big sis and her lil sis would join us too. When thinking of all the adventures that we had done together, we had a pretty reckless and carefree life back then, I would say.

We were quite opposite in our habits then. One was I had no intention of dating at that time (was so caught up in fan-girling) and her ambition was to get married right after our exam. She did exactly what she wanted. She got married one month after our A/L’s and I and her younger sister were her bridesmaid. We were in touch with texting and phone calls here and there after that, when she visited me at home recently only we realized that we met each other after 6 years after her wedding day. She had come to stay at her childhood home for her vacation when she visited me and was troubling me ever since to visit her at home. And that’s what exactly I did.

Her fav thing to do even during A/L’s was to feed me. But marriage has matured her so much to the point she forcefully fed me lots of vegies (I don’t like to eat vegies) saying that’s good for my health. She didn’t even let me eat by myself to make sure to make me eat more vegies than I have eaten in my entire life. Once I was freed from this torture, I instantly suggested to go to Ahungalla beach not knowing what she would try to feed me next.

When we reached that once so familiar place together after 6 years, it felt like many things had changed, at the same time, not much has changed. We were all reminiscing our past as some old ladies. 6 years was indeed a long time, and we felt we have indeed grown from 18 years olds to 24 years olds during that time, specially when we remembered the childish tantrums and pranks which we had pulled at that beach. We were using much sense now ….

However, it was like we time travelled to 6 years back when we visited our usual place, with usual people doing our usual things which was like an ideal day of ours in 2018.
