First out of twelve

The first month of the year is already down and days are flying in a rapid speed that I can't keep track on when is when. Even though I can't believe that I spent 31 days out of 366, I wanted to look back at the first month of the year.

This year started with a heartbreak as my grandma passed away on the second. She is badly missed, and wish she was there with us for a much longer period, but I have no regrets because I did everything I can when she was there with us. Then came my birthday when I got more love than I ever expected.

My research work was falling behind because I also underwent a little surgery in December and followed by my father's accident. I had to take many leaves from my work place due to that. So I had to cover the classes I couldn't conduct at place and get back to the track with my research. There was a circle of tiring days where I had to work 18-20 hours at a stretch to cover those work. Even though it was tiring, time constraints made me more motivated to finish my work.

However, as the month progresses it became cheerful specially when I felt I'm slowly getting back with my working tasks by catching up what I missed. It was a good month for movies as I could watch four movies in the theater and couple of more movies and TV series in the boarding. I could go on two to three shopping sprees and attend a uni event.

Therefore, January was a month where I had a roller coaster journey with my emotions. It taught me that it's okay to fall behind sometimes as long as we keep our eyes on what we want and ready to get back at them.
