Women’s Day surprise

Friday is not my usually workday, but our head of the departments asked me whether I could report to work on last Friday. It came as a surprise because I don’t usually get such requests, but I agreed. I came to work on Friday as usual, but I didn’t get any special work to do which demanded my attendance for that day. Anyway, I engaged in my usual work, but then we all gotta surprise.

They have planned a surprise celebration for women’s day because it was the IWD. But none of us had any clue about that because our internal academic staff is very small. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant surprise. We gotta cake to cut and each one of us received a gift pack. My favourite one is the group picture that we took together, and then the customized card where they stalked their galleries to find individual pics of ours. We all had fun time looking at the pics and going through the gifts.

When thinking back, I had received at least one surprise at my workplace in each month. Jan was my b’day surprise, feb was valentine’s day surprise and this month’s surprise was women’s day celebration. What matters the most is their thoughts behind these little surprises.
