Greetings

Hello friends, how are you all? I hope everyone is well and healthy by the grace of God. I am @green015 from India. Anyway, today I present to you a diy post.

Diy: "Building an Earthen Stove"

I have always enjoyed working on DIY projects. I have a DIY entry ready for this competition—a project that a group of three or four of us worked on together. Although I did not personally construct it, I assisted in gathering the necessary materials. This project was created for our hostel, as obtaining cooking gas has recently become quite difficult. Consequently, cooking at the hostel is occasionally disrupted. Therefore, our alternative solution to the gas shortage is the matir chula (clay stove)—a traditional cooking method. In fact, many women in rural areas still rely on these clay stoves for their daily cooking. Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to @mesola for organizing such a wonderful competition.

Preparation Method:

Step: 1

First, we carried over some bricks and four sacks of soil from the area adjacent to the neighboring hostel. Subsequently, two domestic helpers were brought in to construct the stove. We then provided them with the necessary bricks, half a bucket of water, and an iron crowbar. The first step involves gathering the soil.

Step: 2

Next, a small amount of water must be mixed into the soil and kneaded by hand. Meanwhile, a pit needs to be dug in the ground using the iron crowbar.

Step: 3

Now, place two bricks side-by-side, apply a layer of mud, and then stack another pair of bricks on top. In this context, the mud acts as an adhesive. In this manner, bricks must be laid and bonded with mud along three sides of the structure.

Final Step:

Next, fill the gaps on both sides using half-bricks and apply a coating of mud over them. One side of the stove must be left open to allow for the insertion of wood to fuel the fire. Now, apply a smooth, even coating of mud over the entire structure of the stove. Afterward, let it dry in the sun. However, this mud coating needs to be reapplied periodically.

And so, the earthen stove is complete—and it looks absolutely beautiful. This stove is capable of cooking everything, from vegetables to rice. Furthermore, to ensure its durability, one must periodically apply a coating to the stove's surface using a mixture of cow dung, rice bran, and clay. Only then will it become even more beautiful and lustrous.

I hope you all will like my diy today. I will be back with a new topic tomorrow, until then, everyone stay well and healthy.
