I enjoyed your write-up there is always a connection between both families whether small or large, but one thing may be lacking in a larger family, the ability for everyone to understand each other. They may only come closer if they have a get-together so the bonds between them may not be strong compared to a small family. You chose a small family and I would have done the same good luck
