Family can be described as a group of two parents and their children. The theme for discussion looks into how we like and dislike our family to raise and have a happy and emotionally satisfying family.

👉 My Choice.

I prefer a small family comprising of three or four children and two parents. My reason has always been my liking for a small circle in almost everything I do for adequate attention.

Quality is my like rather than quantity hence, with my small family I can attend to the needs of everyone such as education, I can equally avail myself to give them a listening ear and assist them choose moral behavior to become responsible adults.

👉 Likes

My preference for small families is due to my aversion to overstress from taking care of them, even though I should be stressed, it won't be an overstretching point, I like peace and serenity. Parenting of today requires spending a reasonable amount of time with our family to avert numerous dangers.

👉 Dislikes

In most cases, large families experience a lack of attention which results in fostering nuisance in the family, additionally, large families are affected by financial stress which gives rise to a low standard of living.

For those who love quiet homes, there isn't serenity in large families. Often, there are issues of negligence resulting from poor attention. There is also a lack of education.

👉 What Informs My Decision.

The reason for deciding on a small family is the sanity as well as the well-being of all the members of the family; children and parents.

Growing up as a lady and even now, I have witnessed large families in which parents seriously struggle to make ends meet and cater for their large families. In such a case, the children don't access quality education and most of them never smell the walls of school for a day due to the incapacitation of the parents to afford the school fees for such a multitude of children they have.

Most of these large families are malnourished for not feeding well let alone having a properly balanced diet. The children lack proper parental attention and end up being obstinate.

A good number of parents of large families die struggling to make ends meet for the family. In the cases of those who acquired properties, at their demise, conflicts arise over the sharing of the properties among too many children.

👉 The Bottom Line

In conclusion, each of us has a varied choice with reasons personal to each of us. My preference is a small family for sanity, happiness of all members of the family, and a better society.
