SEC-S30W2: Family Bonding Activities

Family is great and beautiful blessing in our life. In our busy routine we sometimes forget to sit together and spend happy time with our family. Activities like this help families come closer and create lovely memories.

I choose Karaoke or talent show at home for week 2. We did not have board games or other things at home, so we thought talent show will be best and fun for our small family. In our house there are only few members but happiness was big. I, my son and my little daughter took part in this small show. My wife was sitting aside and she was watching and smiling all the time. She was also clapping for us. It was a simple activity but it bring so much joy in our home. Sometimes small things make biggest memories. That night our house was full of laughter and happy voices.

We organize a small talent show in our living room. First we decided everyone will perform something. My little daughter who study in play group started this show. She sing the ABC song with small actions and it was very cute. After that my son came and say the famous poem “Nani Teri Morni Ko Mor Le Gaye.” He was little nervous but also excited. We all clap for him to give confidence. In the end it was my turn and I sing the song “Tum Hi Ho Zindagi Ab Tum Hi Ho.” My children were smiling and clapping for me. It was not professional singing but full of love and fun. We really enjoy every moment together.

My son enjoyed this activity most. He was very excited from the beginning. When we were planning this talent show he was already thinking what he will perform. When his turn came to say the poem, he stand proudly and tried to say every line clearly. After finishing he started laughing and clapping happily. He also keep saying again and again that we should do another show next time. My little daughter also enjoy a lot but my son was the most energetic person that day. Seeing my children so happy made my heart very soft. For parents, the biggest happiness is when children smile with pure joy.

The biggest challenge was getting everyone ready at same time. Small children sometimes get distracted quickly. My daughter sometimes start playing with toys and forget about the show. My son also get little shy in the beginning. We had to encourage them again and again and tell them it will be fun. But slowly they start enjoying the idea. Another small challenge was making the environment comfortable so children do not feel pressure. We keep everything simple and friendly. Once the show started all the shyness disappeared. Then everyone was laughing, clapping and enjoying together. After that it become a very beautiful family moment.

This activity gave us many beautiful gains. The biggest gain was spending quality time together. In daily life we are busy with work and responsibilities but this activity bring us closer again. We laugh together, clap for each other and support each other. It also helped the children to feel confident and happy. They feel proud when family appreciated them. For me it was very emotional moment because I saw pure happiness on their faces. Yes, this activity really bond our family in a special way.

It remind us that happiness does not always need money or big plans. Sometimes simple moments at home create the most beautiful memories.
