This evening felt so warm, not only because of the calm, windless air, but also because of the sense of togetherness I felt as I accompanied my wife shopping at the nearby traditional market, specifically at Simpang Rangkaya. Simple activities like this always have their own unique story, especially when done with someone I love. Even if it's just shopping for supplies for the next day's business, the atmosphere still brings a sense of comfort and happiness to our little family.

Traditional markets at night have a different feel than during the day. Warm yellow lights illuminate rows of stalls, casting soft shadows across the street. The aroma of fresh vegetables, the friendly voices of vendors, and the busy footsteps of people preparing for the next day create a unique atmosphere that can never be replaced. Amidst this bustle, my wife and I walked side by side, briefly discussing what to buy to supplement the small business she runs each day.

We started by buying tempeh and tofu, essential ingredients that are almost always on our shopping list. The vendor already knew my wife, who had become a loyal customer, making the transaction easier, like chatting with a relative. Afterward, we headed to the vegetable stall to buy carrots and cabbage, two vegetables my wife needed to complement her meatballs (bakwan).

The colorful, neatly arranged vegetables delight anyone who looks at them. It doesn't take long for everything we need to be at my fingertips. Though simple, moments like these always provide space for us to talk, exchange ideas, and laugh together. Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily activities, spending time together at the night market is a precious time that strengthens the bonds of our little family. I feel how hard my wife works to help support the family financially, and accompanying her like this is one small way I can support her.
