Longhorn Beetle (Xystrocera)
I went to a bunch of bush in early morning where I could possibly find some fascinating insects. It is called majestic long-horned beetle, scientific name Stenocorus schaumii. These beetles have various colors; black, orange, and yellow. It’s a spectacular beetle (Dr. John Hamilton, writing in The Canadian Entomologist in 1885, says that “this appears to be a rare Cerambyan, and among the choicer.”), but there’s not much information out there about it (it is big enough and beautiful enough, but apparently, it’s not bad enough to warrant attention). When I came to notice these beetles, they moved quite a lot, which made me barely take a shot, but I did not give up on them. I managed to shoot from different angles and ensured that there was no trouble in taking shots.
