The Hero of our time is a novel by Mikhail larmontov. A Russian novel that my father bought long time ago and if I can still remember well, that novel was about a worst of human nature young army officer who believe in nothing but exemption from punishing men and women.

He toys with the love of women and risks he's life and cause destruction among women who care for him.
