RE: Мій досвід кесарського розтину

I didn't remember myself. But it's to be read in obstetric literature:

Moxibustion, to use the medical term, is an alternative treatment method that originates from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The term moxibustion is composed of the Japanese name for the plant ‘mugwort’ and the Latin word for ‘burning’. This is because moxibustion has always involved warming acupuncture points with burning mugwort in order to stimulate energetic processes in the body. During pregnancy, this procedure is primarily used to induce the unborn child to turn in the mother's womb – for example, if the baby is still in a breech position or transverse position a few weeks before birth.

During moxibustion, the midwife holds burning mugwort, usually in the form of a cigar or cone, to specific acupuncture points on the outside of both of the mother's big toes. This is done until the area turns slightly red and the pregnant woman can feel the warmth. This type of stimulation is intended to cause slight contractions of the uterine muscles to make it easier for the baby to turn.

Wow, amazing. But I think method can't be used in state hospitals, can it? Who'll let this... but impressive, really
