Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 118: What If?
Introduction
Life is full of limits. Money, fear and society are some of the sources of some limits. So many times we have beautiful dreams but reality continues to tell us, it is not possible. The What If question frees us and allows us to think of another world.
A place when we take away the limitations and our own desires have the freedom to breathe. In this write up, I will be keen to be frank in my opinion, as per the questions being posed, in plain words and clear reflections.
What if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you go?
In case of a choice over where to live in the world, I would opt to live in a locality that promotes growth, peace, and balance. I envision a nation that has stable electricity supply, a functioning healthcare system and there are chances to the willing working population. I would like to live in the place where there is respect to nature and the technology is highly developed.
I would feel at peace in such place. I would not be bothered with my basic needs and what I wanted first. I believe that environment affects mindset and a good environment makes the individuals think big and perform better. In such a working environment, I would be more productive, creative and concentrated on value addition to the society.
What if you could meet any historical figure, who would it be?
Should I have an opportunity to meet any historical person, I would select Nelson Mandela. His life story is full of agony, endurance, and a mission. It is not normal to spend 27 years in prison and end up forgiving instead of seeking revenge. I would also enjoy sitting with him and hearing him out on his ideas about leadership and endurance.
I would enquire him of how he managed to live in hope on his most dark days. This is because I am sure that by meeting him, I would learn that I should be angry not to be as strong as I can be, rather than to be able to control myself. His life is a reminder to me that through pain one can be moulded into a better person provided one can deal with it with discretion.
What if you woke up tomorrow with a new skill, what would you want it to be?
Assuming that I would wake up on the next day with a new skill, I would desire to learn and master modern technology. The future is shaped by such skills as programming, artificial intelligence, and blockchain development. Such capability would enable me to fit in a rapidly evolving world.
In my opinion, skills are potent. Having the appropriate abilities, one will be able to develop solutions, earn money, and even transform lives. In case I possessed this ability, I would apply the skill to create tools that can address actual issues, particularly in developing societies. In my case, fast learning is associated with faster growth.
What if you could have any job in the world, what would you choose?
A global problem solver would be the type of job that I would prefer to do in the world. It will be a job where I work on ideas and projects that elevate lives, rather than make money. I desire a meaningful and an influential job.
In this position, I would work with culturally and background diverse people. In my opinion, such exposure assists one to develop both mentally and emotionally. I do not desire a job which will simply keep the bills paid, I desire a job that will provide a purpose to me and satisfaction.
What if you could invent anything, what would it be?
Given that I had the ability to create anything, I would create a more cost-effective system that can supply rural areas with water and electricity all the time.
There are a lot of talented and idea-driven people who are not provided with the resources of a basic nature. Schools, hospitals, and small businesses would flourish due to this invention.
I think the basis of development is the availability of the basic amenities. Communities can enhance education, health and productivity using electricity and water. This invention would not only transform lives but would bring back hope to several neglected places.
I invite @eveetim , @xkool24 and @mikitaly @sahmie and @bossj23 and @benton3 to drop a very constructive comments on this post and also to participate in this contest.
