What does it mean to "Dare To Be Different".

Being courageous to stand by your beliefs, ideas, or decisions when they are the least popular or accepted among all people are to have the strength to defy the conventions. It is in the courage of being yourself without apprehension of being rebuffed or condemned. And there are times when a person is too scared to be different since they would want to be part of the crowd or he or she is even scared of being criticized but in order to be different one must be courageous and self-assured.

It is also to think on your own and make the decision by yourself according to your values and not the pressure of others. Being different does not necessarily imply being rebellious and it is being straightforward and doing what you think is right. It can be demanding in many instances as one may feel alone since they are different, but may also result in development and self-discovery. In most instances, individuals who are brave enough not to be like the rest end up becoming leaders and encouraging others not to be different either.

Yes I have dared to be different. One was the time when majority of my classmates liked to read only a day before examinations because they thought that they could pass by reading it last minute. Nevertheless, I chose to make a personal study schedule and began to plan several weeks before. Some of them would laugh at me initially and tell me that I was taking things too seriously. They usually tried to persuade me to quit studying so much and have fun like others. Although I was not always comfortable working more to the extent that I was the only one working, I remained focused on my mission of successfully performing in my exams. Gradually I started to know the subjects more and I was more confident entering the examination room than earlier.

Did you maintain your stand to the end by being different or you joined others eventually?

I stood my ground to the latter. The stress to conform to others was high but I reminded myself that I initially went to do so. I was aware that I could not surrender because there would be regrets about it in the future. It was not so easy to remain the same with my study plan, particularly when I saw the others around me relaxing and carefree but I remained a dedicated individual. Eventually, it was worth my efforts since I did very well in my exams. My results could not believe some of my classmates and even questioned me on how I prepared. That experience taught me that being faithful to the choices could lead to good outcomes.

Do you think daring to be different is always worth it?

It seems to me that it is quite difficult to be different and so worth doing most of the time. It may result in prosperity, self-development, and self-esteem. Nonetheless, it can also be accompanied by such issues like criticism or loneliness. Nevertheless, the fact that one is different contributes to individuals finding their strong and effective sides. The advantages in most situations surpass the challenges since you get to learn to have faith in yourself and make your personal decisions. Being different is worth it when it makes you develop and become a better person.
