Watching little children sing this with happiness and joy while holding hands tells us how happy they are. This is one of the most favorite children's rhymes we used to sing.

What togetherness means to me

Coming together has helped ease the depression people go through. I am always together with people and I can attest that it has helped me mentally and emotionally. Doing things together gives people the motivation, power, and commitment to carry out these tasks. If you're in engineering, you would know the importance of togetherness; engineering is very impactful as a team. A team of different engineers from different fields of engineering makes the work easier.

Being together can help solve a problem you would have taken days and months to solve, simple advice or support will go a long way. It helps cure depression and brings about sound happiness.

How can we create a stronger sense of community in our lives?

It all boils down to determination; some people just enjoy staying alone, and they bear their sadness alone. To have this sense of togetherness, one needs to learn how to socialize with people.

• Make Friends: This is just one of the quickest ways of having a sense of togetherness. You can just make a simple introduction of yourself to neighbors, which will create a bond, and, with time, explain the circle. It is very easy to make friends in school, and a reading partner will also act as a motivation for you to keep on being serious and remind you of classes; this is one of the benefits of making friends in school.

• Join social groups: joining social groups will expose you to many people and also make it easier to create a stronger sense of community in your life.

What activities do you think bring people closer together?

• Football: This is a real game of love and passion, it has brought together people from all over the world. During the World Cup, many people visited other countries, and they mixed up like they were from the same country; it's just lovely to see how united some of them are. Liking in the just concluded AFCON, some Nigerians made friends in Cote d'Ivoire, and some said they won't be coming back again because they love the hospitality and care there. This is just between people who have never seen each other before.

• Celebrations: some cultural and other forms of celebrations bring a lot of people together as they learn new things from these new groups. Different cultural groups come together as one for a display, this will certainly make people come closer.

What are some challenges to togetherness in today’s world?

• Screen time Dominance: Technology comes with big importance, but we shouldn't forget that there are always disadvantages to every advantage. Comparing the level of family time and togetherness families had those days and now is quite saddening; the members are just so focused on their devices. All the folks and stories given to children then by their parents are gone due to inadequate time.

• Urbanization: how well we have forgotten how life was in the village. Everyone knows what's going on amongst their neighbors, food is shared, and gifts are exchanged. When it's playtime, neighbors come together to play. Comparing then and now where every house has a fence and a gate which barriers communication and togetherness.

How can we support each other during tough times?

• Giving a listening ear: having concerns about someone's problems is quite relieving to them as they know that a problem shared is half solved. Listening to people and giving them advice on how to overcome such problems is a very big support even if you don't offer cash support.

• Support groups: These groups can help others in need; people with heavy hands can create such groups and offer help to others.

• Practical help: Offering help to them will solve their problems, this is because most problems people face these days is solved by cash. So providing a physical help can help support others during tough time, it's not all day talk.
