There are two famous poets who born in two religious communities one is Rabindranath Thakur (Tagore, May 7, 1861) in hundu community and other one is Najrul Islam ( 24 May 1899) in Muslim community. Both of them are highest pride for all Bengalis and Bangladeshis. So the Club held a evening program to pay tribute to legendary poets as both of them also born in the month of May. It is a dedicated month of birthday celebration of the potes in all parts of Bengal and Bangladesh. Rabindra Jayanti is celebrated throughout the world.

Kaji Najrul was known as bidrohi Kobi ( "The Rebel") and his songs are known as Najrul Geeti which also includes gajals in Bengali, Hindi, Persian and Arbic. He also wrote many prosess.

He was recipient of many prestigious awards from Indan and Bangladesh Government such as Jagattarini Medal (1945), Padma Bhushan (1960), Ekushey Padak (1976) and Independence Award (1977). Wikipedia

Many participants sang and recite both the poet's song and poetry. There were also dance and drama performed based on drama written by Rabindranath.

This temple is situated beside the Main Bus terminus and electronics market of the locality. The temple committee organise the annual Ceremony celebration during this period of the year.

This year it was held on 18 and 19 May. On the first day they conducted worship of Devi and on the second day they distributed bhog (Prasad made of Rice and Dal with vegetables). It was over crowded but people patiently waited in queue for more than an hour for the holy food.

Thank you for reading my post.
