ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Hello Everyone I Am @MEMAMUN 👳‍♀️ From #Bangladesh

Dear friends, I hope you are all doing well. I am also Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah's endless mercy, I am doing very well. Starting today, the contest for the fourth week of Season 29 is about to begin. I am now going to participate in an important contest by my dear sister @ninapenda. Today's theme is 'If I were given authority in my country for one year, what steps would I take.' Let's get started.

Name one practice, belief, or system that people accept as normal but should be questioned.

little knowledge is dangerous

This is a wonderful question, and in response to this question, I will definitely refer to the times we have experienced since our childhood. During this period, I have encountered many proverbs. Among them, one sentence is particularly important and credible to me, and it has become familiar: 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.' I will try to shed light on this issue.

People generally interpret this proverb in such a way that those who are educated are called ignorant by others, and those who are uneducated are also called ignorant. A person who claims to be educated but behaves ignorantly is referred to as ignorant. This is precisely when the saying 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing' applies. Although this proverb is common in villages in regional languages, it is widely recognized.

It is certainly appropriate to question whether the saying 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing' is really true, false, or fabricated. To be honest, the meaning I understand from my experience is this: If a person acts according to the education they have acquired, they are not dangerous. It is when a highly educated person tries to do more than they are capable of that, when caught, the idea of 'a little knowledge being dangerous' takes shape.

Why do you think people rarely challenge it?

A person who thinks of himself as very educated is actually considered foolish and uneducated. It is very difficult for humans to judge others correctly. Testing and evaluating people is a challenge and very few are capable of it. A person should have just as much knowledge as required for their work. Having more than that is not necessary.

It has become common among people that a little knowledge can be dangerous. Yet sometimes, even a little knowledge helps a person do good work or benefit others. However, sometimes it is seen that a highly educated person makes mistakes due to arrogance and jealousy. Therefore, judging and evaluating people is a major challenge.

What could improve if this “normal” way changed?

There are some proverbs that bring joy to people, while some cause pain. I believe that sometimes through these proverbs, someone may progress, and sometimes they may hurt someone's feelings. However, the proverb I am mentioning and sharing with you is that 'a little knowledge is dangerous.' This can bring nothing but trouble to people. It is important to remember that a little knowledge can act far beyond the knowledge a person actually possesses.

I believe that if a person can pronounce a letter, they have acquired the knowledge of that letter. And if that letter is used to teach someone, then that knowledge has been obtained through higher education. Therefore, I would never say that 'a little knowledge is dangerous’; instead, I would say that education and teachers are valuable. Hence, I believe this proverb should be discarded.

What might be lost if it disappeared completely?

It is not so easy to disappear completely because this proverb has become so ingrained in people's minds that ordinary people frequently use it. Especially those living in rural areas use this saying very intensely. If an educated person makes a mistake while doing something, they are labeled as dangerously ignorant.

So, if it disappears, this misconception and mindset among people will change, and a positive attitude will develop. I think it should disappear, and this proverb should not be taught to children. Every person will consider others educated and will rarely doubt them. Trust in every person will increase, and honesty or sincerity in every individual will grow.

Dear friends, I hope you all have read my post carefully. I want you to also participate here by commenting on my post. I am inviting a few of my friends here. @max-pro, @wilmer1988 @suboohi and @mahadisalim brother

Hi @memamun, welcome to thinking and ideas week 4

My Observations:

Being educated has nothing to do with dangerous. Its only an opportunity for someone to be informed. A non-educated person is like being lower when faces the educated person. This is just normal amd as such everyone should at least acquire the basics.
