StayFit Club: Highlights of My fitness activities for the Week Ending 14th April, 2024. Strength training

It was yet another week of fitness and I was able to train myself as well as others to stay fit. As usual, I told my clients on our group that we were going to focus on strength training.

Strength training is that aspect of training that helps us to build muscles and stamina. As we age, we tend to lose strength due to wear and tear of our bones and due to weakness that comes as a result of aging. Hence, strength training helps to build back our strength.

If one is regularly training for strength, he or she can be able to build more strength that can help one to be more capable of carrying out our daily activities and can be able to feel more confident of him or herself.

Then, lifting groceries, gardening and carrying other heavy objects will be very easy and simple just as I was able to assist the engineer that came around to dig borehole for us while was trying to fix the risers.

We can also be able to become more stronger, our bones will be strengthened, and we can lose weight easily.

Before coming up with a new program that we are going to train on, I usually think of my clients and what they really need. To be honest, they really love all the programs that I do give out and how they are carried out.

Programs that revolved around strength training for Monday workout

Usually, we should be able to lift weights where it is available, but I just have 2 weights ilat my disposal and as such, I tried asking much as possible to make maximum use of them to achieve the same purpose.

Lifting weights was one of the things we did. We used the dumbbells to strengthen the arms. I showed them what to do which involved seating down and lifting the dumbbell up and down. This program can also work for the tummy because one has to tilt back before performing the exercise

Next program was to use tires. I told them to stand at one side of the tire, then lift one of the legs across the other side of the leg continuously for 20 times while they do same for the other legs. One more thing about this strength training is that it helps us to endure.

Using the same tire, they did another program which is to stay in plank position while jumping in and out of the tire with their legs

While carrying out the above programs, the man that was helping me to make our workout step board brought them and this made everyone very happy. It was upper week that I contracted it out to him and he charged NGN6000 (20 steem) for each of them and that is NGN18000 (60 steem). I paid in full, it was just remaining for him to deliver it and he kept to his word.

As soon as he brought them, everyone was so excited and we quickly started making use of them to carry out some programs like strengthening the legs, the arms and the abdomen

Wednesday strength training

We were pleased to have @ali001 who already told me that he will like to join me to workout. He was already at the play ground with bossj23 and others waiting for me to arrive.

Then, we did some lite exercises to warm up before the actual programs began.

Using the step board, we carried out several programs including the plank and arm lift with the dumbbell. They did it 20 on earth of the arms for 4 reps.

In each of them, I will take the lead in showing them what to do and how many reps they will do.

Well, it might be tedious but that is when the results will begin to show when we endure.

Friday training

It was yet another training day with the step boards. We performed different exercises, combining both the dumbbell and the step boards as you can see in the pictures below

Saturday Training

Saturday was a fun workout day. We had full body workout. The reason for this is because we usually have much trainees that day. So, using Tabatha music, we were able to do several programs after our usual warm up exercises which involved running, stretches and others. We were even able to get new members who joined us and promised to continue with us after making some enquiries. It was really fun!
