SLC-S28/W5-"Local Taste, Global Twist!"| Cultural Fusion Challenge!
Welcome to this week’s culinary journey!
In this challenge, my goal is to blend creativity, culture, and simple cooking ideas that anyone can try from home. Each week, I explore a new theme, experiment with flavors, and learn something fresh about food from different parts of the world.
This week’s presentation reflects not just the recipe, but the inspiration, the process, and the joy behind creating it. I hope it brings you as much excitement as it brought me while preparing it.
Now, let’s dive into my work for the week.
Week 5: “Cultural Fusion!”
Welcome to Week 5!
Now we’re stepping into pure creativity, everyone has got a creative talent, let's see how you can use yours. You just have to create a dish that combines two different cultures, maybe Nigerian meets Italian, African meets Asian, Indian meets Caribbean, anything you like. You can work with foods you already have: rice, noodles, beans, eggs, veggies, plantain, potatoes… Just think of how two cultures might “meet” on your plate. No pressure and no big spending.
This week is all about:
✨ Innovation
✨ Blending cultures
✨ And trying incredible combinations
Let your plate speak two languages at once!
I prepared white rice and beans with veggies sauce and fried eggs on top. “Spanish style!”
- Rice
- Beans
- Onion, garlic, ginger
- Olive oil
- Paprika
- Fried eggs for topping

This dish only required the main ingredients to give it that cultural fusion. For this dish, I had to think creative. Spanish rice and beans usually comes in a smoky jollof mix way with fried eggs on top, but I decided to make it in a different way but still having that Spanish touch on my plate. Instead of veg. oil, I used olive oil and onions+garlic+ginger+paprika to cook.
It wasn't difficult, it was so easy as I used my veggies to prepare sauce for the dish. Slices of onions added and placed beside the dish, gave it an African touch! So while thinking of something simple to prepare, I thought of a nice dish from Spain. The Spaniards love simple and comforting ingredients.
You don't need to buy something new, just make use of what is available for you and let the creativity flow!

I am so sorry for the delay sir.
I traveled to a village with no network for one week. Shiloh is a popular programe held every year in my country. You can search about it. I couldn't do any work from there, my blog has also suffered it. I just got back and have started my duty. Network was my challenge from working all these days!
I am so sorry for the lapses,,, it was never an intentional act.
I just uploaded and evidence here!
