༻꧂Identify one everyday problem in your community or country and explain some steps in solving them.༻꧂

Violence against women is a very serious and growing problem in Pakistan which is intensifying day by day due to societal attitudes and systemic failures. Every day there are reports of women being killed in the name of domestic violence, physical and mental harassment, blackmail, and so called "honour". Such incidents in the University of Lahore and other educational institutions have also left the young generation, especially girls, under severe stress and fear. Many girls and youth are going to the extreme step of suicide due to uncertainty and despair about the future of their lives.
The solution to this problem is not only in making laws but in their proper implementation and raising social awareness. The government should take strict measures to protect women's rights, secure grievance systems should be established in educational institutions, and awareness should be created in the society to give respect and equality to women. It is important to provide security and confidence to the young generation with the help of parents, teachers and community. Not silence, but every voice can bring change, so that women in Pakistan can live a safe and dignified life.

༻꧂Why do you think this problem still exists despite many people noticing it?༻꧂

The domestic violence is the most common but neglected problem against women in Pakistan. Many women are victimized by their mother-in-law or husband's cruelty, unjust accusations and domestic fights. Mother-in-law's inappropriate behavior, strain in daughter-in-law relationship, or husband's abusive restrictions and abuse affect women's lives mentally and physically. These issues are often hidden. This is because the women do not speak up due to social pressure, shame or financial dependency. As a result, they live under stress, fear and despair, and sometimes this situation leads to suicide or mental illnesses.
The solution to this problem is not limited to the home or family; Rather, measures are necessary at the social, legal and educational levels. Laws should be strictly enforced to protect women's rights and protection, and secure grievance mechanisms should be established. Awareness should be created in the community and family that women should be treated with equality and respect. Through education and awareness. The young generation should be taught that the peace, respect and trust at home are the foundation of a strong society.

༻꧂In your opinion, what is the most misunderstood part of this problem?༻꧂

I think the most misunderstood part of this issue is that people often think of it as just a "family dispute" or it is a "private matter". Many people think that these are just differences between husband and wife or mother in law and daughter in law. So there is no need for intervention or awareness. The reality is that when women are victims of domestic violence, unjust accusations or cruelty by their husbands. It is not just a dispute but a grave violation of their human rights. It affects the mental health, education, professional life and social freedom.
Many people also think that women should be patient or the problem will be solved with time. This thinking only makes the situation worse. Women are forced to live in fear, despair and stress, and sometimes this leads to suicide or mental illness.
It cannot be solved without social awareness, legal enforcement, educational awareness and family and community support. Treating this issue as a private matter is the biggest misconception. That is why it persists today.

༻꧂If you could change one mindset related to this issue, what would it be?༻꧂

If I get a chance to change one mind about this issue. I would like people to understand that violence and oppression against women is not just a domestic or private matter. It is a grave human rights violation. Nowadays many people think that these are just husband and wife or mother-in-law and daughter-in-law quarrels. So there is no need for intervention or awareness. This behavior endangers the mental, physical and social security of women, and sometimes leads them to the extreme step of suicide.
I would like the society to understand that equality, respect and protection of women is not only a moral duty but an essential part of human rights. If this thinking becomes common, people will intervene in time, laws will be implemented, and women in the community will be able to lead safe and strong lives.
By changing this mindset, not only women will be safe, but the society will also be strong and developed, because an atmosphere of peace, respect and trust will be established in every home. Changing the tradition of silence and tolerance is the need of the hour.

This post is really touching and thought provoking. You have not only explained the oppression and violence against women but also its social and psychological effects very well. I also believe that many people ignore it as just a "family feud" when in fact it is a serious violation of human rights. Your solutions, namely strict enforcement of laws, social awareness and educational and family support are very necessary and effective. If the society understands that the safety and respect of women is the responsibility of every individual not only women will be safe but the society will also become strong and developed.
