SC-S28/W6 – Movie Highlights | “Feel-Good Finale” –The Intern (2015)

Assalamu Alaikum and warm greetings to all my Steemit friends. It's really nice to be able to participate in the last week of Steemit Challenge Season 28. Throughout the season we have seen a variety of movies. Sometimes true stories, sometimes neglected voices, sometimes classics of yesteryear. And coming to this final week, the “Feel-Good Finale” theme is a breath of relief for all of us. For this week I have chosen a heartwarming,Calm and inspiring movie The Intern (2015).

Watch a movie that lifts your spirit or makes you laugh. Example films: Paddington 2, The Intern, Yes Day, Sing Street

The Intern (2015) is not a laugh-out-loud movie. Again, not a story that wets the eyes. Rather, it is a feel-good movie that creeps into you very quietly. At the beginning it may seem that this is a very simple story. But with time the movie lightens the mind. Softens the thoughts and helps to change the outlook towards life a bit. I felt this time and again while watching this movie. Happiness is not just laughing out loud. Sometimes a quiet smile, a slight warmth in the heart, or everything will be fine. This belief is the real joy. The Intern gives exactly that feeling. There is beauty in life even in the midst of work stress, loneliness, frustration with age. This movie shows that very simply.

The main character of the movie is Ben Whittaker, a 70-year-old retired man. After his career ended, the boredom of retirement consumed him. Day after day of free time, without a specific purpose. This emptiness motivates him to return to work again. On the other hand is Jules Austin a young, hardworking and successful female entrepreneur. Outwardly he seems very strong, confident and successful but inside he is constantly struggling to balance work, family and his own feelings. The paths of these two people of different ages and different experiences meet at one place, and from there the real beauty of the movie begins.

There is no need to laugh out loud while watching The Intern. But in almost every scene there is a slight smile on the face. Ben's calm demeanor, patience, gentleness and positive attitude towards life touches the audience unconsciously. The message of Jules' slow learning that you don't have to handle everything alone is also very comforting in the middle of Jules' busy life. This movie is heartwarming because it is so close to real life. There is no exaggerated drama, no gratuitous humor. There are small truths of life, warmth of relationships and faith in people. After watching The Intern, it seems that no matter how much pressure there is in life, there is no harm in moving a little slowly. All those burdens become lighter when someone is next to you. That feeling is the real strength of this movie.

What moment in the movie made you smile or laugh the most?

Many scenes of the movie The Intern are heartwarming. But the one that made me laugh and smile the most was when Ben Whittaker came to the office on his first day and gradually became everyone's favorite. Especially his simple but intelligent attempt to acclimate the young colleagues to modern lifestyles, use of technology and office culture was very enjoyable. In one scene, when everyone is busy with emails, messages and modern work, Ben suddenly lightens the atmosphere with his old-fashioned politeness, slow demeanor and light humor. His quiet smile, thoughtful words and unexpected comments are presented in a way that doesn't exactly make you laugh out loud, but brings a kind of soothing smile to the heart.

These scenes reminded me that laughter is more than just laughing out loud. Sometimes it's the little human moments in life that give us the most joy . Ben's presence made those moments even more beautiful . Which makes this movie particularly memorable for me.

What made the film feel comforting, joyful, or hopeful?

The movie The Intern gives a pleasant and peaceful feeling. Because it captures the small moments of ordinary life so beautifully.Ben Whittaker's patience, courtesy and loving demeanor gives the viewer a sense of comfort and security. Age is never a limit while watching this movie.Learning new things, building relationships with new people and regaining the rhythm of life is possible. Ben's presence creates a bridge of peace and support in the midst of Jules Ostin's busy life. Small gestures like making coffee, smiling sweet conversations with colleagues, or showing compassion to each other in a busy office. All in all, the movie brings hope to life.

Also, the story of the movie shows how important relationships, understanding and empathy are. These subjects evoke a kind of peace, joy and hope in the corner of the viewer's mind. After watching it, it seems that no matter how stressful life is, people can overcome all challenges through love and compassion for each other. That is what makes the movie comforting.Makes joyful and hopeful.

Would you recommend this movie to a friend who’s feeling down?

Yes, I would definitely recommend this movie to a friend who is feeling down or depressed. The movie doesn't rely on any over-dramatic weepy story or laugh-out-loud scenes, but slowly brings peace, warmth and hope to the viewer's mind. Ben Whittaker's character shows that age or life situation can never stand in the way of new beginnings or change. Ben's kindness and compassion carry a message of hope amidst the hectic life of Jules Ostin-. This message can help anyone overcome depression, obviously.
The small moments of the movie, funny situations, friendly relationships, human behavior in the works all encourage and delight the viewer's mind. So if my friend is disappointed or upset, I must say so. Watch this movie, it will lighten your mind. And the outlook towards life will be more hopeful.
