A Groundwork Diary on a Nigerian Construction Site From "Setting Out To Excavation"
Last week friday we started a setting out of a building layout, me and my boss I used a pegs and String lines to mark the boundaries with square which is use to square the side of a building and to check the angles, also with measuring tape which is use for taping out the building.
We followed the building plan to mark where the walls and columns should be, It was important to double-check the measurements because even a small mistake could cause big problems later in the day after that we constructed the profile round the building.
The second day it was ready for excavation, some people that where around began excavation by digging the ground for the foundation, here’s what we did, marking out the depth of the foundation from one place and following the one level all round after the digging of foundation work was done the started digging the column base, the following day which was the third day.
The following day which was the forth day , the in pecking was started so that you can have the normal level of the ground and it will be casted with concrete and also it will help you and I will know how to shape the foundation trenches well before casting it.
So am very grateful about this excavation process is being done and also the casting work will begin which will be updated to you guys about how the process is going on which will be the part two of this.
I placed my invite to @emishael, @josepha and @orubee2as1
This is a video view of the work done about the foundation which is ready for casting

This is actually a good thing because through this, you will learn something which will help you in the future just like how to start a foundation of a house it really matters alot which is the first thing that's done before building commences.
